"confess" ( travis, please )
Talking with her best friend about boys wasn't something new. Hell, Kat had even once said that all Maddy talked about was boys her clothes and shoes. Of course that wasn't true at all but there she was in the bathroom talking about Travis
"It's like he doesn't even know how much I actually love him." She paused a bit as she looked at her reflection in the graffitied mirror. "But like in a good way, you know?" She had no doubt that someone who wasn't supposed to be privy to the conversation probably was able to listen in on it.
"Honestly it would probably be worse if he did know." The idea of just how much it would hurt if it all ended with Travis one she had to live with every time she thought too long on their relationship. "I wasn't even supposed to like him, I mean he's not even really my type." Then again her type hadn't exactly been good for her. "I mean he's short, it's not like he has money, but-" Maddy's words faded off as she thought about what he made up for in so many different things. "He makes me think none of that is important." She thought she had been in love before, but what if there was something bigger than love?
Kat's skepticism showed on her face. "I'm serious." A small laugh leaving her. "It's like he lets me be me but he doesn't want anything from me." With any other guy they wanted her to be the trophy piece, the beautiful jewel next to them while they treated her like dirt. "It's kind of weird." To everyone else Maddy was a status symbol, but you couldn't be a status symbol to someone who didn't care about status at all. "I don't know," she paused. "I just know that it's going to hurt when he starts thinking that i might be too much for him or something."
