A/n: It's fun how both Charon and Click died in the same war, but one turned into a ball of sunshine and rainbows, and the other into a depressed priest.
"Tell me Click, do you ever miss being alive?"
This was a simple question you've been holding back from asking because you weren't sure whether it was appropriate or not.
"I don't think so," the ghost beside you responded with his usual calm tone.
"I can't remember much, and if it weren't for the newspapers, I think I would have forgotten my real name and how I died by now, but still I don't miss being alive" he continued without taking his eyes off his camera.
"Then let me change the question"
"Is it nice to be dead?"
The boy paused for a moment as if lost in deep thought.
"The sunset is nice. It makes the sky so colourful. " Lifting his camera up, the photographer took a few pictures of the sight before carefully placing the tool in your hands.
"See?" He asked
"See what?" You looked at him a bit perplexed, struggling to catch the meaning of his actions.
"War took my life, but death was not the end of everything. I can still take pictures, and I learnt how to take beautiful ones," he said, looking at the horizon smiling.
"But sometimes I hate it that you can't feel me. With this body, I can hold your hands and hug you only for brief, unsatisfying instants." He said, bringing his hand close to your face only for it to pass through you.
"We are like the moon and sun so close but only together during eclipses, but it's not that bad," he finished smiling brightly, looking at you.
"I guess you're right"
That was Click he might be dead, but at least he died happily without regrets, and he lived his death with optimism, great ambitions, and that unique dreamy look of his.
One could dare to say that he might be the only person who this war gave a better fate.
that was the first thing click had said when he had seen you, and that was all that left his mouth, at first. taken aback, you flipped around to face the disembodied voice and almost fired back a quip — almost, until you realized there was not a hint of animosity in the way he looked at you; no, only a genuine desire to help.
he blinked at you, once, twice, eyes flitting from your hat to your face and back again. you took note of his hands, blurry and gray; the way they inched towards his camera for a split second before dropping back down, as if his fingers had a mind of their own and wished to capture even such a mundane moment as this. (this was something you’d come to know as time went on, and with it you would realize it was not as mundane as you thought.)
you dipped your head. your fingers flitted to the brim and adjusted it — once, twice, to the side and a bit forward, back a quarter of an inch. he nodded, then chased off the gesture like it was a critter with a quick “that’s good.”
you turned to face him. his hands finally came to rest on his camera, and he raised it to one eye and closed the other. he did not ask you to smile. you did regardless.
plsplspls can i get a click x gn!reader where they like petting him and praising him? i always give him so much praise and head pats because he deserves it :3
Click // Your Hands
Note// If hand holding with a ghost can be a real thing, i would be so happy.... <//3 (if not, I'll make it possible in this request/ih)
___
Click is not often seen as the physically affectionate type and was pretty reclusive when it comes to interacting with many people, but other than that, that doesn't mean he hates people.
He just either has nothing to say or cherishes his lonely corner better through the echoing sounds of explosives that are ringing in his head--- (it got a bit dark for a second there NDNDNDN;; 😭)
You did catch him off guard many times before. Having you close to him brought him different feelings, except that they are not unpleasant.
There was this moment when he managed to get a footage of the monsters from up close on behalf of the crew. You guys were exploring the area much safely with Click being able to go through farther distances without the risk of getting hurt(as he is more experienced with dangerous, unpredictable obstacles).
You first gave him a headpat after that, along with a sweet praise for his unfaltered bravery. Saying how he is carrying the team so well, thanking him for agreeing to join the exploration despite the burdens. It sounded so genuine.
The moment you raised your hand to headpat him-- he instinctively caught your hand.
He didn't know why, but he felt he was going to die again from hearing your words. The sight of how his fingers start twitching is pretty rare to see from his usually stable hands that grip firmly onto the handles of his camera.
His mouth is no more than a straight firm line, staring silently at you as he struggles to find the right words while in this situation.
"Ah... sorry." He says, a bit unsure himself why he stopped you when your actions aren't meant to be as harmful.
He almost forgot he is no longer alive for a moment.
At the end of every single day, he would often find himself receiving something from you despite what happened in that incident. Either a light gesture of affection or praise as if trying to boost him before going through another tomorrow as a floating, transparent entity...
He slowly gets quite used to your advances and begins to feel less jumpy from your touches and thank you more openly from the suggestions and praises you give him.
Click is silent during these brief moments, not ever questioning nor saying anything once he feels a headpat. Instinctively, Click would lean in closer to your hand whenever you give him headpats. Lightly lowering his head to slowly give you more access to the crown of it.
You never thought the hair of a ghost was like touching a soft cotton that could easily go through your fingers until then.
From the soft invisible hue on his cheeks and the slight soft twitches his thumbs make, it slightly tells that he is quietly enjoying it.
He never thought he would get such strong emotions coming from your words either. A sincere praise toward his portfolio is enough to make him feel appreciated that there is someone who cherishes his work.
It's hard to tell if that really means to him for sure, but the tiny smile on his pale lips with his softer, dull eyes gazing at yours might give it away.
I don't know how to explain why, but Click gives me the silent type of cat behavior - like there is this modesty in him and how reserved he seems around people. I imagine that he can go lowkey cuddly only around his favorite person(you).
He won't admit it verbally... He is not one with very strong opinions either. Yet, he is honestly aware of the fact that he likes to stick with you.
Not only because you're completely alright about that, but you sure seem to like having him around. That's good enough to justify your right to have him glued on you, not him./lh
After all the positivity you manifest on him, you technically just adopted him to have him let you do any silly stuff with him and drag him around like a floating teddy bear. It just seems so cute. fnfbbfbf;;; 😭🥺
All the headpats you have him might also glue on to him too, ngl. It causes him to slowly take it as a small habit of his to do the same to you whenever you finally get things done or you accomplish an achievement yourself.
A pale, calloused fingers brushed over your head carefully as if trying not to press too much weight on it. Like an end of a pillow patting you instead. Sometimes, he does this as a way to comfort you since he is not even very good with words sometimes.
His praises may not express much emotion through his tone. But his calm demeanor helps a bit, as it makes you understand that things will get better eventually and that there is no need to be scared for a future that hasn't happened yet. Only just by sharing a glance with him.

i. SUMMARY: Click can't help but take a picture when he sees you.
ii. CONTENT WARNINGS: None!
iii. NOTES: Fluff, gn!reader, 0.2k words.
iv. A/N: my first non-genshin work! sorry it's so short i wanted to finish this quickly ;-;
A loud click broke the silence of the night. Startled, you turn to see a shadow glimmer and flicker from existence, melting in with the darkness. It vanishes in an instant, leaving you alone in the dark, lamp-lit streets.
“Uh…” You carefully watch the spot where the shadow disappeared. “Click, is that you?”
“I’m sorry…” The voice came from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. It was soft and lilting, with the barest echo at the end of his words. The sound of it was oddly comforting. “I just saw you standing there, and the light from the streetlights made your face look so… nice.”
In a matter of moments, the figure begins to rematerialize. Click appears in all his tattered war uniform and pale grey skinned glory, sheepishly holding his camera up. His hands curled tightly around each side of the device.
“You know you can just ask for a photo,” You say with a small smile.
“I know… I just love how you look when you don’t think anyone’s watching,” He murmurs. “Your expression is far softer. And that combined with the lighting… it almost looks like you’re glowing.”
He cleared his throat, his cheeks blushing lightly.
“Sorry… am I keeping you out in the cold?”
“It’s fine—”
“You should go home.” He interrupts. “But before you do… could I trouble you for a favour?”
“Of course, what is it?”
He holds up his camera. “If you don’t mind… could I take one more?”
Hello! Is character interaction still open? Can I interact with Click from reverse 1999?
"Hey Click! Mind if take you on a date? I would love to see your pictures of yours as well!"
There’s a long moment of silence. Click looks through the lens of his camera, aiming at a leaf in the rain. The water pools up, and once it forms a drop, the shutter snaps. This is when he seems to notice that you’re standing there.
“Hm? I’m sorry, could you repeat that?”
He fiddled with the button of his camera as he listened to you repeat yourself. His eyes widened upon hearing your proposal.
“A date? I think… I’ve been on a date once. Someone took me out to a field and we…” His words trailed off as he couldn’t seem to recall what happened that day. One of his hands reached up to comb through his hair. “I… can’t seem to remember past that.”
Click’s face fell back into its usual somber expression. “Are you sure you want to court me? You cannot touch me.” He shook his head, thinking your request couldn’t be all that sincere. Who would want to date a dead man?
His eyes brighten ever so slightly at your insistence. “Oh… you still want to… Then, I will accept your proposal. Maybe I can bring one of my photo albums.” The corners of his lips tilt up into an almost invisible smile.
Character interactions are open all the time! This was my first time writing for Click, I hope I did okay! I recently got him to insight 2!
