I could definitely see that; he keeps this facade of cold, almost cruelty, but we have seen in his retconned letter that Antonio has a deep-rooted soft spot.

Antonio has his own history of being frail. Part of me thinks he would be scared to face someone he loves in such a state, but I think he would push past that anxiety.

Like- when he says something mean or cruel they just say "... that was a hurtful thing to say to someone you just met" or if he says something rude about someone "What a cruel way to think"

they never tell him to change his behavior or outright reprimand him, just express dissatisfaction and distance themselves temporarily if he was particularly mean "that hurt my feelings, I don't want to talk to you right now".

like... gentle but firm. If it's someone that isn't his S/O idk how much he'd like or even tolerate it but I think it would be a fun dynamic bc it forces him to see his behaviour for what it is without anyone even trying to make him feel bad about it- it just does- does that make sense?

I think that makes perfect sense; you paint a very good image of it.

Antonio is used to intense reactions, pulling disdain and discomfort from people. While it amuses him, I'd assume it is also a form of protection, in a way, from what the royals had done to him in the past.

So for you to be so patient with him... I think he'd struggle to understand it at first- it might even bring feelings of discomfort to him that he has to try and hide with a typical catty attitude, or maybe a dismissive, "You're no fun..." as he walks away.

Have you ever watched any sports matches inside of those open stadiums where if it rains mid match the players are gonna be soaked? Well a bullring isn't much different in that sense,if it rains Hernando is gonna be drenched by the end of it.

it does give a unique look to him though,with the cloudy sky giving everything a more monotone feel,his soaked hair,drenched clothes and with the water weight on that flower of his,it almost looks a bit wilted,in a way it makes his bullfighting seem more intense and sinister? On a normal day,the blazing sun shining upon the arena almost makes everything so vibrant and surreal,like you're watching a really elaborate play at the theater,but like this? The sense of danger is a look clearer.

Anyways after everything's done hernando walks up to you,drying his hair with a towel before he sees you and immediately walks over to you for a hug and a cheek kiss,his wet clothes damping yours,but he barely seems to care,i suppose him being all wet feels better than him being sweaty and covered in sand,but needing a change of clothes after hugging him makes it worse for hugs.

You both go on with your days and everything seems fine at first but the very next morning Hernando's voice sounds hoarse,he sneezes every now and then and has sore joints,no doubt because of the rain.

Obviously he tries to endure it at first but it's clear he can't perform at his peak under these conditions,his nose acting up keeps taking his focus away,his stamina is terrible and the more effort he puts is the more his soreness borders on painful.

And with nothing to do,he's bored out of his mind and clingier than ever,he practically begs you to stay home with him all day to keep him company.

Sick Hernando is an interesting man,he hates how he can brush off bruises,cuts and bone fractures but somehow a cold cripples him more than any of those things,it must be his more thrill chasing lifestyle where even if certain parts of his body are hurt,he can still use the rest but with a cold? EVERYTHING SUCKS,he's fine with one arm or leg sucking a lot,but everything sucking a moderate amount? It's horrible,how is he supposed to do anything like this? And just lying down and resting all day is boring,he needs something,anything.

That's where you come in,please just bring in something for him to entertain himself with you,a book?a board game? He's desperate enough he might even try drawing with you.

Actually that sounds kinda nice,a sick Hernando lying down in bed while you two talk and you do your best to draw him in a piece of paper,you know what? that's a great mental image,paint him like one of your spanish men.

At first he'd take his shirt off,lie down on his back,brush his hair back with his fingers while holding a rose on his mouth and trying to smile seductively at you despite how sick he feels,it only for about two minutes before he starts shivering and sneezes sending the rose flying across the room,he should probably put his shirt back on,hopefully the image is stuck to your head now and you can draw it without looking at it.

The whole time he keeps bugging you like a kid in the backseat of a car going "is it done yet? How about now? how about now?" Followed by an overdramatic "Come on,mi amor,i'm dying over here i want your masterpiece to be the last thing i ever see" while clutching his chest.

It doesn't matter how good your art skills are,he's gonna love and cherish that drawing forever once it's done,he might even feel his cold start to heal a little,even if it's just him feeling happy.

AWWWWW,he really does deserve it doesn't he?

I have so many norton requests rn,i hope i don't end up spamming the norton x reader tag and someone who doesn't like my writting thinks "ugh,why's this guy everywhere when look up norton x reader stuff? I wanna see other blogs" you know? Or maybe i'm overthinking it 😅

ANYWAYS NORTON TIME!

He would notice you're up to something pretty quick,you're usually already at home when he comes back and he has a decent idea of how your routine is usually like,so when you aren't he starts asking questions about where you went.

His reaction would depend heavyly on what exactly your gift is and how expensive it is,he wouldn't be mad at you either way,he knows you meant well regardless of what you got him but he can't help but think "seriously? You worked your ass off just to buy me this? You couldn't think of anything better to use that on?" It might not sound like it,but he is flattered you went out of your way to do that.

Norton would probably try to return the favor,he already doesn't think highly of himself,so if you do something like this for him he'd probably feel the need to be someone who deserves that,even though your love is unconditional and he should know that.

Though a specific scenario i'm picturing is you saving up to buy pastries or sweets for him,Norton rarely gets to try anything sweet despite having a bit of a sweet tooth,like a pie,pudding or a jar of candies,Norton would scoff at that but still accept it and then when he's eating it his face immediately lights up and he almost lets a little smile slip through and keeps taking more bites when he thinks you aren't looking.

And then you start sharing it,if you insist on him having it all he's gonna tell you he's not gonna drop dead just because he missed out on a tiny bit of sugar and you know,YOU BOUGHT THIS you should have some too.

How abouttt taking him out for a date! A nice day a nice celebration! And ending that with gentle affection and kisses and- :kicking feet: ehehehe

OMG ITS HIS BIRTHDAY!? I better hurry up then,i know at least one person here will be happy about it

WAIT WAIT:what if i do smiley too? It feels appropriate for the occasion,not sure how to characterize him but i shall try my best!

Just imagine taking joker out to a nice,really high up place with a nice view:it can be anywhere,the rooftop of a building,the edge of a Hill,your balcony anything works really,and do a picnic there.

You can watch the clouds or stargaze,eating sweets from his favorite bakery in town,or just lie down and talk about life,if this is back before the massacre or in the manor au's public map you could even sit and watch as the fireworks light up the sky at night,though in the latter scenario it is bittersweet for him.

I can see him *trying* to dress up for this,with the way his hair is styled he can't really escape the clown look but he can try to look nicer and switch up his makeup for a change.

Then you roll over to him,leaning in to press a little smooch against his cheek,then he asks for another one and at the last second he turns his head to give you a kiss on the lips before turning back with a huge nervous grin and his face flushing red under all that makeup:it's his best attempt at being affectionately playful and he can't believe he actually did it.

And if you want to keep the look on his face,go ahead and tickle him,it looks really silly from an outside view but two grown adults rolling on the floor while one tries to tickle the other and the other is a giggling blushing mess is just the kind of silly goofyness one needs on a birthday with a loved one right?

Hopefully he gets some good night cuddles too? Pretty please? It's his birthday you know?

He'd want to throw a party for himself,if it's not possible then at put in a little note at the entrance of whatever place he's performing in to remind guests to "wish a happy birthday to the funniest,most handsome clown in this side of the world -from his lovely husband/wife/spouse"(it doesn't matter if you're actually married or not,you are married now) and follow his lead afterwards.

He has plenty of tricks,props and acts to show,no matter where he is,who he's travelling with or how much his soul has withered:getting people to watch him and laugh is one of the few comforts he has in life,besides you,of course.

Today he brought in a monocycle,but not for himself:for you,it's important to get out of your comfort zone and let your inner talent bloom in front of dozens of sadistic bastards on a stage,that doesn't sound very reassuring but trust him on this one,you've got this.

When you try and struggle to maintain balance,with dozens of both adults and their children silently cheering for you to fall over and hit your face on the floor and hopefully lose a tooth.

And they get it,when you fall over they all laugh at you,some clap even and in that moment you have all of their attention and they're all laughing at your misfortune and you made them all very happy tonight,it might feel humiliating at the moment but maybe one day you'll learn to appreciate the little things life gives you.

Plus it makes joker look good when he picks you up,holds you comfortably against his chest and tries to show you how it's done while holding you:it works as well as you can imagine with a big burly clown with a prosthetic leg holding another person and trying to balance both on top of a tiny monocycle.

Surprisingly he manages to keep it up for a few seconds and during that time the audience seemed genuinely impressed before it all came crashing down,metaphorically and literally:on top of you,fortunately with no bones broken

And that was a total hit with this kind of crowd,just pretend it was part of the act alright?

And backstage he pulls you into a kiss,then another,then another and another all while telling you how good you did and how much they adored you,as well as checking you for any bruises and kissing them better if he finds any.
