WELL DONE CELTIC

Football fans get a bad press so many times. They are treated by the media as drunken, violence loving people who aren't there to watch the intricacies of the game but to have a fight. Over the years the average football fan is portrayed as a racist, homophobic and someone who isn't a part of society.

However like all parts of society there are parts who fit that profile, but it's a small proportion. Most football fans are decent people who aren't racist, homophobic or violent but that doesn't help the press does it ?

Two weeks ago Celtic fans stood as one against an oppressed minority, the Palestinians. They flew flags of Palestine during the match against an Israeli team. UEFA will no doubt fine them BUT the fans started a campaign to raise the equivalent of the fine and donate it to Palestinian charities. What a brilliant way of showing their support.
