Communication is a two-way process that involves both the sender & the receiver. While we focus on improving the listening & comprehension skills, the sender’s role in communication is overlooked. When it comes to communication the role of the sender cannot be underestimated. As a sender your message has to be easily understood by your receiver.

Here are some tips on how to practice effective communication as the sender:

1️⃣ Know your audience: Before delivering your message, take a moment to consider who you’re communicating with. Tailor your message accordingly.

2️⃣ Be clear & concise: Avoid using vague language & industry jargon that might confuse your receiver. Keep it simple !

3️⃣ Listen actively: Communication is a two-way process and being a good sender also means being a good listener. Allow your receiver to provide feedback, ask questions, and respond accordingly.

4️⃣ Choose the medium: Depending on the message you’re delivering, certain communication mediums may be more effective them others. For example complex message may be better suited for a face-to-face conversation rather then a text message.

5️⃣ Follow up: After delivering your message, don’t be afraid to follow up with your receiver to ensure they have understood the message and to address any lingering concerns.
