The 4-H Pledge.
"I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my family, my club, my community, my country and my world."
A rural American youth oath from 1917.
The 4-H pledge is used at each meeting in order for their members to have a sense of belonging. Making a commitment to the four H's helps the members commit to something bigger than themselves. Head, Heart, Hands and Health are the words that thousands of 4-H members live by.
