I had lice about 5 years ago, when I was still in high school. I remember my parents telling me not to share hats or hoodies and I never did that. Instead, I went to my cottage and got it while spending the night. From a pillow case. I never thought I'd get lice again. Being an adult and all (because that makes perfect sense). So recently given the cold spell that has fled across Michigan, everyone was saying I had dry scalp. And you know what, I didn't even question it. Because never have I heard an adult getting lice. Or at least it's more popular for children. So I went on for a month thinking my dry scalp was the cause of the itch. I even bought head and shoulders. 2 hours ago, laying in bed, I scratched my last scratch. A tiny sesame seed size bug came out of my head. At that point I lost my shit. I cried, ya know why? Because I already had lice, I already know the process, I felt disgusting. I still do. Yes I treated it, yes I'm laying in bed with fresh sheets, pillow cases, blankets, etc. But for 2 hours my mother combed through my thick long hair pulling out tiny dandruff sized nits as I sat there, wondering where the hell they came from. So, in conclusion, if you have an itchy scalp, don't assume it's dry scalp. There's ALWAYS the possibility that it's lice. I still don't know how I got it.

I had to clean it to find my sewing machine needles because I had forgotten where I put them.
