           walking  around  ,  kai  made  a  point  to  𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐃  his  parents  .  his  mother  trying  her  hardest  to  get  his  attention  without  coming  off  desperate  to  everyone  around  them  .           (       keeping  up  appearances  ,      )         classic  kathy  wilder  .  especially  now  that  she  felt  like  she  had  some  social  standing  .  she  didn't  want  to  come  off  as  a  mother  with  an  estranged  son  and  a  missing  son  .  although  ,  villainizing  one  son  and  having  one  vanish  off  the  face  of  the  earth  may  have  been  the  𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓  victim  fuel  .  but  of  course  ,  that  wouldn't  have  went  with  her  illusion  she  was  trying  to  give  off  to  the  world  .  his  father  on  the  other  hand  ,  made  it  much  easier  to  avoid  him  .  the  other  male  not  making  any  type  of  effort  .  if  anything  ,  it  seemed  both  kai  and  carter  wilder  were  just  drinking  their  way  through  this  event  .  like  father  ,  like  son  . . .  how  heartwarming  .         ⏤        downing  another  glass  ,  kai  wandered  over  and  picked  up  another  one  .  moving  through  the  crowd  of  people  before  stopping  as  he  spoke  .  not  really  pay  attention  to  who  was  near  .        ❛      wonder  if  there's  a  way  to  get  our  hands  on  that  video  .     ❜

           zeppelin  was  struggling  throughout  this  whole  thing  evening  .  counting  down  the  seconds  for  it  to  be  𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑  with  .  although  ,  on  the  outside  it  looked  like  he  was  a  full  supporter  of  the  whole  thing  .  or  ,  that's  what  he  was  trying  to  give  off  .  there  were  times  the  male  was  far  too  easy  to  read  when  it  came  to  the  pure  𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐑  behind  his  eyes  . . .         (     but  that  was  neither  here  nor  there  .     )         zoned  out  for  a  moment  ,  it  wasn't  until  zeppelin  noticed  someone  come  over  in  his  general  area  .  more  than  likely  minding  their  own  business  but  zeppelin  took  that  as  his  cue  to  turn  on  the  facade  .          ❛     kinda  surreal  ,  don't  you  think  ?     ❜        the  male  questioned  as  he  glanced  over  at  the  other  .         ❛     us  all  being  here  ten  years  later  .     ❜

             as  much  as  kai  just  wanted  to  say   "   fuck  it   "   and  𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄  despite  the  police  telling  everyone  to  stick  around  . . .  he  also  didn't  want  to  go  .  his  head  spinning  with  the  idea  that  something  of  chris'  was  𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃  . . .  who  found  it  ?  when  ?  and  why  was  it  suddenly  popping  up  now  ?  as  much  as  kai  wanted  to  𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐃  like  he  didn't  care  about  everything  that  had  happened  ,  the  disappearance  .  he  did  ,  at  times  it  was  all  he  could  think  about  .          (      constantly  eating  at  his  brain  .     )         ⏤        sitting  down  ,  an  almost  annoyed  sound  coming  out  of  kai's  mouth  as  he  plopped  down  on  the  seat  .         ❛      it's  like  it  doesn't  matter  how  hard  you  try  and  get  out  of  this  fucking  town  ,  you  still  can't  get  out  .     ❜         not  to  say  he  wasn't  capable  .  he  had  been  gone  the  last  ten  years  after all  . . .  but  here  he  was  ,  back  .  a  tether  he  wanted  broken  .          ❛      some  hotel  california  type  shit  .     ❜

                ❛     this  whole  thing  is  fucking  bullshit.     ❜         kai  couldn't  help  but  roll  his  eyes  at  the  whole  situation.  it  was  no  secret  that  he  𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓  amused  by  any  of  it.  if  anything,  he  𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃  everything  about  it  and  that  was  clear.  kai  not  one  to  hold  back  when  it  came  to  the  anger  and  annoyance  he  felt  about  any  given  thing.        ❛      so  what're  we  supposed  to  do  ?  wait  for  the  boogeyman  to  make  their  grand  appearance  while  we  ride  carnival  rides  until  we  puke  ?     ❜        

         the  carnival  was  the  last  place  zeppelin  wanted  to  be.  it  wasn't  even  that  he  wanted  to  run  away...  he  lived  in  lincoln  city  but  he'd  rather  stick  his  head  in  the  sand  and  go  back  to  how  things  were  𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄.  back  to  when  everyone  was  slowly  letting  the  disappearance  of  chris  wilder  dissipate.  back  to  his  world  of  white  lies  and  whatever  else  he  needed  to  get  over  the  𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐓  he  carried  by  keeping  the  secrets  they  had  all  kept.        ⏤      as  much  as  he  wanted  to  stay  home...  with  everything  going  on,           (      here  he  was.     )         taking  a  deep  breath  as  he  tried  to  stay  away  from  the  crowd  for  a  moment.  zeppelin  closed  his  eyes  for  a  bit  before  hearing  someone  behind  him.  quickly,  he  turned  around  to  look  at  the  other.        ❛     needed  some  air  too  ?     ❜

          despite  everything  going  on,  luciana  was  doing  a  great  job  of  ignoring  all  the  outside  noise.  then  again,  that  was  something  the  girl  was  𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐘  used  to.  a  way  of  living  that  came  natural  to  the  girl.        ⏤        smiling,  playing  into  the  cutesy  vibe  she  constantly  tried  to  give  off.        ❛      i  swear,  that  whole  myth  about  the  balls  being  over  pumped  with  air  or  not  having  enough  air  in  them  so  it's  harder  to  make  the  shots  has  to  be  true.     ❜       she  laughed,  her  sorry  𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐔𝐒𝐄  for  missing  every  single  shot  at  the  carnival  basketball  game  she  had  failed  with  flying  colors.

         ❛      i  been  thinking  and  i  really  think  . . .  maybe  us  all  going  to  this  alumni  event  on  the  twenty - sixth  is  a  good  idea  ?     ❜           zeppelin  began  ,  although  the  male  had  been  𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓  days  prior  about  how  much  he  didn't  want  anything  to  do  with  any  of  this  .  with  the  message  . . .  with  the  reunion  . . .  he  really  couldn't  shut  up  about  the  fact  that  it  was  all  a  disaster  waiting  to  happen  .  that  he  felt  like  something  𝐀𝐖𝐅𝐔𝐋  was  on  the  horizon  .  alas  ,  people  had  to  broaden  their  horizons  . . .         ❛      and  i  think  we  should  take  turns  or  something  trying  to  reach  out  to  the  wilder's  . . .  get  them  all  to  come  .  i  mean  ,  maybe  we  can  make  a  insane  thing  into  something  good  ?  bring  mrs.  and  mr.  wilder  along  with  um  ,  the  other  son  . . .  and  dedicate  the  night  to  them  or  something  .     ❜           it  sounded  like  a  rambling  mess  but  coming  out  of  zeppelin  who  was  known  to  be  a  little  sporadic  ,          (       was  it  really  the  most  insane  thing  ?     )          that  was  up  to  interpretation  .        ❛     i  mean  ,  i  just  feel  like  it's  the  least  we  could  all  do  . . .     ❜
