this whole event was, you know, nice and probably could’ve been a lot of fun if it wasn’t a fundraiser for a memorial for quentin. early that night she put her game face on,  a perfectly filled lipstick smile and friendly eyes, and decided to get everything over with early, hitting all the important rounds like anyone she was going to see once the whole night, people she’d have to get back to after a drink or two, and finally the cromwells. 

eliza managed to make it through that meeting with a hug and a brief ‘how’re you doing’ before she was off to her own devices. now she was standing by one of the tables, cup in hand of what was definitely spiked punch. her pursed lips drifted into a smile once she realized someone had come up to her. 

mini event –

hi all. just a heads up that this is totally optional and it’s more like a fun game/thread prompt than “event.” essentially, i’m nostalgic for gilmore girls, so have this bullshit. i’ll twist something creepy into the plot as a result of this:

annually, as a private university, ashcroft does it’s picnic basket fundraiser. certain students that sign up submit picnic basket lunches anonymously and other students bid on the baskets without knowing who they’re bidding for. this year, the fundraiser will go to benefit the remodeling of the infamous east wing. thank you all for your participation and community spirit – we’re really excited to kick off our twenty-fifth annual picnic day.

how will this work?

if you’re interested in participating, please like this post by saturday, july 27, 8pm est. if you have multiple characters but would only like to participate with one of them, please clarify that ASAP otherwise i’ll assume that you want to participate with all of your characters.

on saturday night, i’ll divide the people participating with a random generator, and half of the characters will be “bidders” and half will have baskets. if you have multiple characters, i’ll try to make sure you can have one in each category, math permitting. 

people with baskets will be notified and required to submit a description of their basket by sunday, july 29, at 5pm est. 

following that, the baskets will be posted and “bidding” will begin, i.e. the bidders will send me their top 2-3 baskets (number fluctuating depending on how many people participate). 

on either tuesday or wednesday, depending how quickly people get back to me, i’ll post who got whose basket and you’ll do a picnic day para with that person. 

this marks the beginning of our dashboard event ! for now, all posts on the dashboard will pertain to this post. here’s what you need to know:

please put current threads on hold. feel free to drop ones that are growing stale and save the ones you want to continue to your drafts until this weekend.

post all open starters to #class:event but you’re welcome to use our (somewhat broken) starter tag as well. send your starters to the main so i can be sure to archive them on our starter blog.

closed starters are totally fine, but be sure that you are interacting with everyone and responding to all open starters as well. i’d love to see lots of open starters on the dash.
