30 Seconds to Mars is a rock band from LA, California. Their style is a combination of progressive metal and space rock. They have been my favorite band for a long time. I absolutely love their music and music videos. All of their music videos have hidden meanings in them which make it so much more interesting. I specifically chose this video because I loved it when I first saw it. It is very unconventional and has a lot of symbols in it which represent the meaning of the song. The video uses various symbols of love, lust, faith, dreams, anger etc. I think I can play with different symbols which relate to the band in my poster.

I chose Jason Munn as my artist. These posters are from his book called "The Small Stakes." He uses a lot of geometric designs, but in a way that they represent the band or somehow relate to the band. He uses the same objects various times but changes the meaning of them in order to relate to the band. I love the simplicity of his work. His work is very minimalistic but does justice to the bands. Even when he uses a single object, you can immediately relate it to the band. I'm hoping to do something similar with my poster. I want to be able to use very little objects/shapes and still be able to relate the poster to the band, which can be very difficult.

I will give a quick overview of her history and as a singer follow by the reason why I picked her in class. 

So I feel emulating Jason would be very beneficial for me since his work really gives off that do less, speak more attitude... If that makes any sense.
