Cisco Ramon Appreciation Week - Flashpoint AU/Role Reversal @ciscoweek
“Mr. Ramon,” an aide kept pace with the tech mogul’s confident strides, holding a tablet. “For your perusal this morning we’ve got a start-up tech research lab. They’re an R&D consultancy but their long term goal is building a particle accelerator for clean energy.”
“A particle accelerator? Let me see that.” Mr. Ramon took the tablet from the aide as they walked. “Aww, ‘S.T.A.R.’ Labs? Cute. I am a sucker for a good name.” He swiped through several pages of the proposal, skimming quickly. “Hm. Hmm. They’ve got some good stuff in here. Yeah, I like this. Offer ‘em ten mil. And keep me in the loop, I’m curious whether they can actually execute.”
---
“We got it.”
“What?” Harry Wells looked up distractedly from his laptop in the cluttered lab space where he was feverishly writing grant proposals. His hair was a bird’s nest and his blood was mostly caffeine, but that was the norm these days.
“We got it. The longshot VC from Ramon Industries.” Jesse said, eyes bugging as she listened to the voicemail on her phone. “Dad, they want to give us more than we were hoping for.”
“What?” Harry repeated, his focus turning laser-sharp. “How much?”
“Ten million dollars,” Jesse replied, faintly incredulous.
Harry squinted at her. “Are you sure you’re not mishearing?”
“No, I’m definitely not.” Jesse tapped the speakerphone option on her screen and slid it across the table between them, the voice of the Ramon Industries aide sounding slightly tinny through the speakers.
A slow smile crept over Harry’s face as he listened. He leaned back in his chair, arms behind his head. “We’re in business, Quick.”
Jesse grinned back at him, eyes glassy. “We can finally make mom’s dream come true.”
“It’s gonna take more than ten million to build a particle accelerator,” Harry said, ever the realist. “But yeah, Quick. Yes we are.”
On the voicemail, the message concluded that Mr. Ramon had taken a special interest in their endeavor and would be keeping close tabs.
“Do you think we’ll get to meet him?” Jesse’s cheeks glowed with hope.
“Probably,” Harry said, generously not mentioning the Tech Global magazine photoshoot of Mr. Ramon that they both knew was taped to her bedroom wall. “But it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that he bankrolls us.”
---
Mr. Ramon was not at their contract signing. They did see him briefly from a distance, however, striding down the hall with a taller, elegant woman on his arm who must be his girlfriend. Harry didn’t need Jesse’s elbow in his gut to tell him to take notice; Mr. Ramon naturally pulled the focus of every room he walked into, and Harry could see why. With his sharp blue suit and megawatt grin, he was confidence personified.
Harry had to admit he was curious about the man behind the money. Mr. Ramon was, by all accounts, a self-made success from humble beginnings. In just a few short years he’d successfully done what Harry had been trying to do for decades - change the world with technology, and monetize to keep inventing whatever he wanted.
Well, as he’d told Jesse, they’d surely get a chance to meet him at some point. You didn’t just fork over ten million dollars in venture capital and ignore the recipients. Though if you were Mr. Ramon, maybe you did.
Harry found himself hoping that wouldn’t be the case.
CISCO RAMON APPRECIATION WEEK: Favorite Season - Season 2
@ciscoweek. Not a fanwork, this is just some S2 pics and me blathering about why S2 is my fav season for Cisco.
Season 2 felt like the season Cisco got the most to do, and lots of variety for him as well, so it’s the one I look back on with plenty of fondness. We had developing powers ontop of his usual tech expertise. Him being a CCPD scientific advisor too. Cisco’s (revealed obssession with and) plan to catch Turtle to stop Zoom. Flashback had a throwback to S1 Cisco that was fun, including the geeking out time travel related commentary from him. The Earth-2 eps gave us Reverb and later in the season Cisco not so successfully trying to pretend to be Reverb too lol.
We got cute going on dates Cisco, even if those were (literally) ill fated. Plenty of Cisco and Barry interactions. Dante and him reconnecting after Rupture appears and his ‘if I don’t come back from Earth-2′ letter is discovered. More Cisco and Lisa Snart, with 100% less kidnapping this time. Cisco meeting and dealing with being around Harry, including the creepy coaching Harry to pretend to be more Thawne-like for Caitlin’s rescue from Grodd. Cisco and Iris dealing with zombie Tony Woodward while Barry is AWOL in the Speedforce and then bringing Barry back together. Not to mention, Cisco’s badass moment saving Barry at the end of “Enter Zoom” with the tranquiliser gun when everyone else is standing about shocked.

Cisco may not have gone into music like his brother, but he still creates fan remixes as a hobby, occasionally submitting his reinterpretations of video game music to a video game remix website. One of Cisco's harshest critics - PiedPiperCC - also gives him his highest praise and as much as Cisco wants to meet him in person, it turns out that PiedPiperCC is the handle for Hartley Rathaway, who just so happens to be Dante Ramon's nemesis in the Central City music scene. (Sort of.)
