her eye closes against the sting of alcohol to her brow, blood smearing away with the not quite gentle swipe of a towel held in clawed fingers. 

she’s not really sure why he’s even helping her. 

maybe, she thinks, it’s pity for whatever’s coming next. after all, there’s no way gustav and the others will let her stay after this. 

if he was smart he’d get as far from her as possible. 

if she was smart she’d run before they even have a chance to chase her out...
