(In which Busterverse rates sock needles)
A huge bunch of NoNami bamboo needles sizes 0-8, from fleabay:
Pros: Pointy, grippy. Cons: Rough. REALLY rough. But whadaya want for needles that basically cost two cents each?
Pros: Light. Cons: Kinda blunt.
Pros: Pointy, grippy, comfy. Cons: A little TOO grippy. Their circs catch on your yarn where the join is, making them a pain with grippier yarn like cotton.
Pros: Pointy, FAST (40” circs), no catch whatsoever between needle and cable. ❤️
Pros: Pointy, flexy, SOFT. Cons: Can't find 'em any more.
Pros: Fast, slick but grippy enough. Cons: Smaller needles could be fragile.
Pros: Not too short or long, just grippy enough. Cons: Can't find any more; blunter ends.
Pros: Lightweight. Cons: REALLY blunt.
Pros: Find them anywhere. Cons: Shorter circs are bent and catch on your yarn.
Pros: Pointy, grippy. Cons: er…thinking…
(This leaves out many NoNami vintage plastics I find at yard sales, but those are generally VERY nice.)
Photo shows my cotton sock, displaying Brittany, Takumi, Comfort, and Yard Sale Special….oh, and yes, that is a crochet toe start,
