The whole story was influenced by the 100 years war between the french and the english. I know it seems hard to believe, but sometimes people base certain tropes along the lines of that. Especially in fantasy settings. Yes they have a bunch of mythical, non existent crap. but im just letting you know the significance of why Casca is black. sure, you can make her Latina if you so choose, but in Miura's eyes it just makes more sense as to why she would be black.
Did you know that in 2017 there were at least 173,038 Brazilians living in Japan? And that since 1990 Brazilians started immigrating to Japan? I’m just letting you know that it isn’t impossible that Miura came in contact with a Brazilian or a person of Brazilian descent and decided to insert that into the story as something exotic or different.
I’m not denying the historicity of black people in a medieval setting, my purpose was more on the intention of bringing attention to why certain headcanons are okay (”Casca is black”) but other headcanons that can be just as valid and fulfilling for people (”Casca is latina”) are met with resistance (”She’s black because *insert reasons*”)
only reason i mention her being black is bc you dont really see any sort of latino characters... especially in a fantasy setting where the only relatively close "latino" would be spanish/portuguese. Environmentally speaking, Latin America was never really a part of medieval society, therefore She's most likely black. People can do whatever they want as far as fan art goes, but canonically i don't see her being latina. at least from a regional sense.
LMAO!!
The place they live in isn’t Europe, it’s called Midland. There’s also a mythical fairy island called Elfhelm and a dimension called Qliphot where trolls and other demon stuff lives.
AND YOU WANT TO ARGUE ABOUT REAL WORLD ENVIRONMENTS, TIME PERIODS AND REGIONS!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If Casca can be black then she can be latina too, get over it.
