uhhh i ship all the canon ships in ycmal and i guess that’s kind of obscure but besides that??? no i dont think so

51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

ok i’m not going to get negative about fandoms i do that all the time so im going to get positive!!i know a million people have said this before me, but what i love about fanfic is how much i love them compared to the actual work of fiction. 99% of the fic i read has to do with LGBT couples, which is important to me as a gay nb person. in media, canon gay couples (especially canon lesbian couples!!!) are so few and far between and fanfic not only makes a gay couple part of the story, they make it a main aspect of the story. one of the things that turns me off of a show (shame/less.......) is that the writers will make a gay couple canon and then think that’s enough and will throw the characters to the wayside OR they completely ruin the characters to the point where they’re not even the characters that i fell in love with (shame/less......) OR one or both of them die. in fanfic, authors aren’t writing LGBT characters for brownie points, they’re doing it bc they love the characters and love the story they’re writing, for the most part (i hope). so the thing i love the most about fanfic is that is takes characters i love and treats them better than the show-writers ever did.

e: have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what?

alas, i have not added anything cracky to hockey fandom, i couldn’t write crack, i’m not funny enough

f: what’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? what fandom was it?

technically it’s been the superhero fandom since i’ve liked comics since i was wee but i think the four-ish years i spent in the spn fandom take the cake

hmmmm idk tara and i have come up with some pretty strange things but i’m gonna go with the werewolf anastasia au with agally that we talked about a couple days ago

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

hmmmm guilty pleasure for reading fic is probably pet names/terms of endearment and as for writing fic i really like writing making out, it’s kind of hard to write for me but i like it more than full-out smut
