Befriend Me!
Befriend Me: I wil write a drabble about our characters meeting for the first time
October 29th 2009 -- Inferno
Another day spent mostly daydreaming, actually dreaming and relaxing in their little refuge, away from the Delacroix castle and their inhabitants. Sofia had managed to feel at home next to Joel, be one with the Dreamcatchers despite being no Saint, but a mere human. Yes, she felt like the odd one out, someone walking alongside Joel, not deserving of her position, yet still with him all the time, enjoying his gift of sleep and dreams. But today? She’d enter a real kingdom for Saints, the hell most religious and anti-Saint citizen avoid at all costs. Inferno, the kingdom of no other than Liam Gray, the wielder of fire, the one she keeps hearing so much about. Aaron had warned her not to visit this place, his powers allowing him to sense powers in others, revealing some of the most dangerous individuals within this self-created hell. Alas, Sofia never cared for rules and wouldn’t start now. Entering first, Joel nearby, following her while making sure nobody even came close to touching her, Sofia admired the design of Inferno, almost couldn’t stop herself from dancing to the music. A never-ending party, paradise for every Saints, that’s what she saw, though, as a human, she felt out of place. Fire, fire everywhere -- contained, used to light up the rather large kingdom. At the end, all the way behind all those Saints dancing and celebrating their shared experiences, sat a man, a teenager, one who exuded strength and a fire unmatched by those ten, twenty years older than him. Of course, no one but him could be the leader.
Pushing her way through the crowds, Sofia forced herself closer to Liam, farther away from the entrance. It’s like fire attracted fire, her hair a symbol for her fiery temper, something she’d always cherished. “Liam Gray? The Liam Gray?” She’d lost Joel in the crowd by now as she stood at his steps, waiting for an answer. Looking upwards towards him, “Who’s asking?” firm and annoyed, his voice had a boyish sound to it, obviously, given his age, but despite that he could command an entire army if he wanted. Coming from a family of war officials, Sofia knew about the influence one could have on others while showing off their confidence and Liam, without a doubt, knew how to play his part. “Sofia Sallis, a human,” she answered, lips slightly pursed, defiance clearly audible in her voice. Liam had moved his body slightly forward, the cushion of his throne giving in to his weight and, for the first time, Sofia saw the blackened ends of his armrests. “I don’t know you,” he answered, uninterested, surprisingly cold for someone who controls fire. “You will. You will.” For some odd reason Sofia loved to oppose people in positions of power, but, fast forward ten years later -- so much was about to change, for both of them.
