This is the chimney of the house where the Sousa Lamy family used to live in Porches. Somehow, this chymney became one of the village's main atractions.

Chimneys in Alentejo are also quite charming. Sometimes, at least as charming as the ones you find in Algarve and this is a good example that proves my theory.

Winter in the Upper Alentejo - all fireplaces are on fire, all chimneys are smoking. Most people know hot hot is the Alentejo during summer, but not all are aware how cold this region is during the winter season.

Usually, I like every chimney that makes an effort to be something more than a mere tube to release the smoke. But I am not sure if I like this one.
