quick question, ever thought of doing your own version for fusion spirits and ancients that have the same feel as the ones for fire, light, and darkness?
There are actually already ancient spirits for every legendary warrior in canon! So I never had any interest in designing more.
There are technically fusion spirits for all the protagonist digimon from frontier... Sort of? They all look like they were designed before that concept was fully finalized (especially daipenmon...) but I don't dislike them. Back when I was doing the DMFR comic, I had planned to redesign them a little just to make them fit the themes of the comic more, but I never planned to outright throw them out.
(Except maybe the darkness fusion spirit... Because I wanted a fushion of Geopardmon and Nachtmon and the canon one did not work for that.)
I also did start on fusion spirit designs for the non-protag digimon, but never finished. (Was getting burnt out by that point and not having as much fun)
I don't have any intention of doing anymore digimon designs right now. Revisiting the rookies that I felt I could do better with was a fun little aside! But I really rather focus on my more personal projects like Chimeran Legends as well as my current TTRPG character, Mercutio (who prompted this whole thing seeing as they were an expy/spin-off of Reflectmon once upon a time) than with Digimon right now.
I know that's probably really disappointing to hear. If you want to read more about it, I posted the cancellation notice for DMFR on it's tumblr page a while back, but TLDR I got really burnt out due to my own mismanagement and don't want to work on that project anymore.
I think the only thing I can see myself doing with DMFR at this point is silly short jokey stuff, but even then, I can not promise that. Like I stated a few times in the redesign posts, I am a very different person now, and I really can't bring back the person I was before and make myself work on digimon fan content again.
I hope everyone understands. And thank you for the support as always. I do appreciate it, and I'm very sorry for any disappointment.
