✨Fuck Biochemistry ✨
there’s a lot of talk about how sakaki is a groomer and lets be clear. he is. but i wanted to talk about why he even picked tsukasa in the first place. and it’s really because of how much he was parentified and neglected in his childhood.
for starters also i just want to say that tsukasa was in fact neglected. i keep seeing people try to raise this as a point of contention (oh but it only happened One time) and its like okay no the only time he was left at home and not contacted at all was what we saw in pmm. but it’s well established that this is a recurring theme throughout his childhood. dazzling stage shows it. it’s also there in hinamatsuri. where tsukasa slips out of the house without anybody noticing to run to a hospital in the city by himself. and you can say a lot of stuff like ohh it’s common in japan for kids to go out on errands Yeah on errands. not to busy cities late into the evening. he lives in fucking tokyo man get real it’s not a smart parenting move
ok but anyways. he’s parentified. he constantly worries for his mom and dad’s emotional well being and neglects his own. he’s so emotionally destabilized that he careens straight into a dissociative disorder at age five or whatever. he takes care of touya. he takes care of saki. he’s the caretaker of the group when his little sister hangs out with her friends. he does not have any friends of his own. there is never a moment in time in which tsukasa is not given directions and responsibilities to mind. and as a result of it tsukasa has grown up to be someone who is incredibly disciplined and extremely receptive to what adults tell him to do. you see it constantly in how he interacts with directors and mentors. kaito. ohara. kijima. the ootori family. bakuno even. asahi. (interesting that it’s all men isn’t it.)
and it’s like. the cyclical patterns of abuse, right. here’s this kid. he will do anything you say and he’ll do it without complaining. and when he’s with his peers it’s safe but you put him in any other scenario and suddenly it’s so dangerous. sakaki does this for a living. he grooms actors. and he sees tsukasa and he recognizes immediately that he’s been abused in the past and that he can use that. and he does. and tsukasa falls into the same cycle he’s lived in all his life where he doesn’t rely on anybody but the words of the very important adult who knows what he’s doing. and now he’s here.
and i do think what i mentioned earlier is very interesting. because tsukasa’s the only boy in a group of girl leaders and so much of his narrative honestly is very. like. how do i say it. i dont want to say feminine because hes not a feminine person but also the experiences he suffers are very in line with sexism and misogyny. he suffers from eldest daughter syndrome despite being a boy. he’s the least physically imposing out of any of the project sekai dudes. people refuse to take him seriously in any context. he’s emotional and cries a lot and people belittle him for it. men take advantage of him.
a scene that stands out to me quite often is in sod where rui stands up to shosuke and keisuke. you know the infamous one where he #mans up and uses 俺 instead of boku. tsukasa tries to stand up to them first. if i’m remembering right. and it doesn’t work because he’s emotional and volatile and he’s not taken seriously. and rui is so firmly aware of the position he has in the group as like. the only Guy who can stand up to this that he deliberately takes on a more masculine role and steps in.
and that’s really really interesting because behaviorally tsukasa is one of the most masculine characters in the cast right he’s very very stereotypically masculine he follows so many standards of japanese masculinity. he’s the only guy in the game who constantly affirms himself as the man who will become a star he is so assured of his masculinity that it isn’t a question to him. and yet there are people who seek to deny him this constantly and that’s part of the why i so deeply enjoy transmasc interpretations of him i think 🧐 curious curious. i have to go now. bye.
Why drawing is hard? Why?
I love this song~ so relaxing and romantic. I can't help myself imagining a dance with my partner on the grass under the sunset. Fksmdk I know it might be a little different from those usual songs but... Mmhh this is so sweet I think

I teach swimming to children aged 5-12. I had to be head trainer cause the one we usually have was absent, which is also hell. We had like a test for the tiny children and of course they don't pay attention. So I had to yell and run around and I was already sore and exhausted now I have a sore throat and everything hurts. Ugh.
things that are poopy: animating a walk of any sort.
