I disavow you, eyes corrupted must be crushed
So nary a sound can be uttered a second time, I’ll crush your throat too
I don’t need it any more, if you’re going to break your vow!
Here and now, it’s my turn to tear you apart!

Chronograms by General Lighting and Power (top), Nic Clear (middle), and Chris Kelly (bottom)
Source: Clear, Nic. “Drawing Time”, in Neil Spiller (ed), Architectural Design: Drawing Architecture, Sept/Oct 2013, profile no. 225, p. 70-79.
“The chronogram has four basic functions: (1) to set out the narrative and tell the story of the project; (2) to describe processes involved in the production of the project; (3) to communicate style by using the graphic language of the project; and (4) to develop and communicate the spatial ideas of the project. Perhaps the most important function is that the chronogram stands in for the time-based work when it cannot be shown, a problem that is perfectly illustrated when trying to describe time-based ideas in a static form… The chronogram differs from traditional ways of mapping out time-based sequences, such as storyboards, in a number of crucial ways. The storyboard assumes certain conventions and roles within film production. … The chronogram is not shot based; it is a spatial drawing. Its role is to determine the spaces of the project. … Most importantly, the chronogram is not intended to be as prescriptive as the storyboard; it is a much more fluid drawing type, and should be considered a strategic conceptual aid. Its role is to facilitate the creation of spatial ideas in conjunction with the development of the time-based work, and ultimately enable the designer to communicate his or her design, design intentions, and the means by which he or she seeks to achieve them.”

(Repost) The Power of the Prompt: Question 27
Who are your favorite artists? Dear Readers, this prompt is very easy for me to answer, being an artist myself. I’d feel like a sacrilege if I didn’t answer this one. My favorite artists from a local point of view has to go to “The Poetic Godfather of the Hudson Valley” Mikhail Horowitz, someone that as a fellow poet, I really admire. As good as I am as a poet, I can only hope to be as wise as…
