Happy Sunday bookworms and Happy New Year! I have been a busy little bee since Christmas and my winter break from work ends on Tuesday so I’m going to be even more busy and aaaahhhh I’m just not ready for it 😂 - Since my last post, and since the beginning of the new year, I’ve read 3 books. They are: PORTRAIT IN DEATH by J.D. Robb, THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE ALBINO’S TREASURE by Stuart Douglas (a gift from my gal pal and partner in crime @bookworm_365 🖤), and THE PALE HORSE by Agatha Christie! All were easily 4 or 5 stars for me. But now I’m off to start THE SECRET PLACE by Tana French! 🙌🏼🎉 - How many of you have read Tana French? Her books take a bit to read because her writing is breathtakingly wonderful but they are always SO good! Happy Saturday! I cannot believe there is only 9 days left until Christmas....where did the time go??!?! I’m not even done gift shopping yet 🤦🏼‍♀️ - In other news, I’ve made some rapid progress with THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW by @ajfinnbooks – a story about a woman with agoraphobia. Already making headlines for 2018, THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW is fast-paced, gripping, and has had me unable to stop reading for hours at a time. I even fell asleep with the book on my lap last night because I just couldn’t tear myself away. Day 3 of my lakefront camping week with the fam & I am as tan as ever! My sister & I spent all day yesterday in a little boat raft & we paddled out as far as the current would take us 🌬🌊💦🚣🏼‍♀️ - Hopefully I can get a few more hours of reading in tonight! I'm loving DEEPER THAN THE DEAD by Tami Hoag; I'm only about 150 pages in out of like 550 (we've been having too much fun so reading time has been sparse) but the forest setting in California sure hooked me from the start! Finished this beauty of a book just in time to talk about it with my bookclub on Sunday 😍 - I know absolutely nothing about Greek mythology so I was a little concerned that this book would be too over my head. That moment when your pup and the neighbor's pup (you can see his nose at the bottom of the crack in the fence there) decide they want to play right when you start setting up for book pictures 🙄 It's a good thing they're cute! 🐶🐾🐶 - So guys, I finished IN THE QUIET by @elizahenryjones yesterday! I love when you find a book and end up reading it at the perfect time. Does anyone else know what I mean? It's like...you have to be at a certain point in your life or in a certain mindset at the time and the book is totally transformed for you in so many ways. After recently coming through a slump, IN THE QUIET was exactly what I needed. 🌾 - Now I'm off to start this beautiful #coverlove book called MAGPIE MURDERS by Anthony Horowitz, an ARC I received from @harpercollinsus // @harperbooks!! Thanks so much guys! 😘 And yes, it's totally different than my last read but HELLO!
