The reason I personally don't find it easy to find a movie to use is because horror movies is not my genre at all! I watched tons of them when I was younger, pre-teen/teen-ish but the only bigger ones that left impressions haven't inspired me so far. So it might also be just me struggling, because horror isn't my prefered genre. (I did some research and watched a movie yesterday which I might use though)
I did think of that, which is why I also made a challenge inspiration post with links to different horror movies in case people didnt watch/like them. But oh well, it is what it is 😂
I'm sorry if it came across in a bad way, I definitely don't think it was a bad challenge! I'm sorry if it sounded that way, that wasn't my intention :( I think it is a very creative idea, and I think we could get some really cool fics from it. It was not meant to critize the challenge at all, just a thought on why more people aren't participating yet. Although it's all just guess-work, isn't it? x
Oh not at all, I didnt even take it that way, I know for next to just keep it simple I guess, and just say "write a spooky fic", rather than do it on movies. The entries Ive had so far have been great though so theres a positive 😂
Thought on the Halloween challenge: I am planning to give it a try, and normally basing a fic on a movie wouldn't put me off (obviously, lol!) I just personally find it difficult, because it's hard to find a movie to fit the queens well into (to me anyways) so it might be why people aren't responding too much too it. I still think it's a cool idea for the challenge though, and hope to both read more entries by others, and finish my own :)
That could be why, I assumed it would be pretty easy to find a movie, particularly for group fics (Alien, Wrong Turn, Scream etc.) but I guess it depends on the author. If Im still here for next Halloween I know to not do this kind of challenge again and just do a run of the mill Halloween challenge.
