Soul Destroying!
I came across my image ‘Greenback’ being used to promote a film called ‘A Life Lived’. My image was being displayed on a business web page and their Facebook page. My image was also being used by one of the actresses in the film, on her web page. At no point was I asked for permission for usage or paid for the usage.
Based in San Diego, the owner of Frazzled Man Productions (Mr Chris Cashman) is a producer, writer and director of The Mike Koenigs Show, Club Frontera, etc, etc. Looking at his CV, he was even a stunt double for Will Ferrell. Hell!, I love Will Ferrell)
It is quite soul destroying when you come across one of your images being used without your permission. It is also a kick in the teeth when you have another creative person helping themselves to one of your images and using the image for promotional purposes.
Was permission asked? NO.
Did I get an offer of payment once the infringer got found out? NO.
Do these infringers expect me to live off thin air? YES.
Does Chris Cashman keep a roof over his head by working for free? I doubt it.
There are no excuses for copyright theft. All website owners are responsible for the content they display.
