Martin is panicking.

He’s not sure how long it’s been since he was pushed in, but he knows it can’t be good, and he knows Jon is alone, and he’s panicking. 

“Helen!” He shouts for the 5th time, turning a corner and opening the next door he sees in the hope that this time she’ll actually be there. He knows it’s hopeless. But it doesn’t stop the fear in his chest swelling when she isn’t there. “I know you can hear me!” He cries once more, desperately, and when there’s no reply he slams his fist into the mirror on the left wall that mocks him.

He’s scared. His hand is bleeding and he’s so fucking scared.

Martin knows he managed to escape this place once before. But as he starts to walk down the pristine corridor he swears was the same as the last, he wonders if he’ll be stuck here forever. 

She sounds surprisingly passionate about wanting to help him, and Levi looks up at her words; meeting her eyes. They’re burning with intensity, heavy with the desire to be able to help him, if only a little. His expression changes so slightly that it’s almost imperceptable. …Well, maybe it’s not that suprising. Bel has always been one to try and help people like this.

Normally, he wouldn’t be so reluctant to let someone treat his injuries. It’s important for obvious reasons, and he’s no medical expert, either. But right now, he’s needed elsewhere. She has assured him that she has it taken care of, and that the soliders would be fine without him, but…

When they’re all struggling desperately to make a difference, in this world where tradgedy is unavoidable… He really shouldn’t deny her this, he thinks.

( Besides, he has enough of a headache. He’s sure he’ll be giving the recruits a blessing by not letting them face him in this state. )

“Alright.” he relents. He offers up his arm to her, presenting the injury in all it’s ugly glory.

" Holy. Fucking. SHIT. " Bel couldn't even begin to comprehend how he was functioning with such a bad looking- she was going to have to get a closer look. “ Sorry, it’s just, whenever I see that I usually have to get someone to help hold them down... “ Quickly but carefully, she perused for sources of bleeds and patched with some added pressure. He knew well enough to stay more or less elevated, but couldn’t blame him for being too distracted to secure a tourniquet. As soon as she got him more or less stabilized, her eyes flickered from the caked blood on his skin to the general direction she sent those other scouts.

Another expedition that lead to nothing. This time more people died than she could remember, even with all the signals and planning that her and Erwin did, it still lead to nothing, the Female Titan still on the loose somewhere. No spoils to show to the people. Many people died today, many of whom she knew personally. She couldn't tell how long she had been standing by the funeral pyre as the rain bared down heavily on her. She couldn't move, locked in that position thanks to pure guilt.

"Go away, Moblit..."

She snarled at her second, the male folding his arms in response before leaving her in peace and quiet. Why was she in such a mood? Was it her giving back into her old ways? Kill every Titan that stood in her path... Those words rang heavily in her head, not wanting to give into her instincts.

It was then that she began to sob. The calm and happy composure of the section commander finally breaking. The first time in so long...

miscellaneous angst starters.| Accepting | @choosetofight 

“S-Sir?” Eren slowly and carefully sat up within the bed, the white sheets falling from his shoulders and onto his lap. He remembered how he changed into the Attack Titan and then, nothing. Did something go awry again? His head was throbbing and pulsing, a hand reached up and rubbed at his temple. Silently, Eren realized that his head and hand were wrapped in the signature white gauze. Green eyes looked around, noting the rather clean state of the room, What happened? Did a scouting mission go wrong again?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I get that people have a right to their opinions of course, I'm not gonna get at people for that at all; but I do see people put these huge expectations on erwin especially and claim that he'd know "exactly what to do" & it does often ironically seems to ignore the fact that he was only human... maybe he would've done, but there's no way we could know either way - this is something completely different to anything that the SC has ever faced. 

I personally think levi's choice was meant to be ambigious regarding whether it was "right", anyway - there's no way anyone can know for sure. Maybe that's just me, haha. more importantly, levi made his choice because he wanted to free erwin from all this to begin with... I mean I'm sure he doesn't want Hange to go through what she's dealing with right now either, but he'd lived with that burden of having to be this perfect Commander/a "neccessary devil" for so long and even after finding his dream, it wasn't gonna get any better. Unfortunately, the world of SNK wasn't gonna let him retire and get therapy, as much as I'd like that for him otl... ;~; again, people have every right to disagree with me, and I get why they might, but - I think levi's choice was one of the kindest he could give in the world that they live in personally.

Anyway, I got off topic lol. But the expectations people put on Hange sometimes are insane, especially now that they're dealing with an entire world of people who want to kill them. It's so depressing reading Hange seeing herself as a failure of a Commander and trying so desperately to get Eren to just communicate her when she's in such a shitty situation... it's like man. I just wanna give her a hug ;~~~; okay, holy shit that was a long reply. sorry about all that!! ^^''

People don’t appreciate the story enough for what it is. I see so much entry-level understanding about characters and relationships in this fandom. ‘Hange said she’s a bad commander so she is and that’s that.’ ‘Everyone liked Erwin so he’s the best commander that’s that.’ And often viewing Levi as kind of an accessory to other characters. I know both Eruris and Levihans are really bad at that- They just like Erwin or Hange and Levi is their funny little grumpy man rather than his own character in his own right. 

Erwin’s character arc was as an obsessed, wounded man that hated himself for being so obsessed with a goal of proving his father right to make up for causing his death, that he hated himself because he was willing to waste countless lives to follow that dream all while accidentally making people believe he was a righteous person, until it came to a head and he was able to sacrifice himself like he’d sacrificed everyone else, and became the kind of person he ‘tricked’ people into thinking he was. 

Being sacrificed was extremely important to this character arc but they complain he should have lived just because they liked who his character originally was early on.

Like people blabbering about Hange being awful but not actually picking up on her character arc and how it’s developing, especially with Flegel and the journalists popping up again recently to show she’s disappointed them, obviously to foreshadow her going back to her pre-Commander roots some time in the future. Or people just going ‘LEVI IS 2 POWERFUL!!’ not paying attention to the fact his character arc goes beyond that and he fact that he loses most of the fights he’s in because he has to run away to protect others...

I know it’s kinda dumb but it’s obnoxious to me because AoT isn’t a super derivative, turn-your-brain-off kind of manga. It’s got some actually legitimate writing, even if the anime is trash and even if it’s gone through some really bad writing points. If you can say anything for Isayama, he’s good at writing characters and having very interesting, philosophical points (that apparently people can’t pick up on). His only problem is that he’s a pansy who rolls over to others’ opinions too much.

I mean, it’s like people have gone all this way without comprehending that the running theme of the damn series is moral grayness, and how Erwin was the first big example of it. AAAAALL the way back in the FTT arc., when Armin had his whole spiel..

Epecially when her cellphone was left in her bedroom to charge.

Especially when her cellphone also doubled as her alarm clock.

She woke up when she should have already been dressed and ready to walk out the door, groaning loudly upon looking at the clock and hoping and praying she had just enough dry shampoo for that day. Thankfully, she had not been completely forsaken, though made a mental note to stop at the convenience store to buy another spray can.

She had dressed in record time, barreling out her door and thinking she may only be a few minutes late. But when her phone buzzed with a new message, any hope of getting to work reasonably late flew out the window.

[Nifa:] Remember, you promised you’d bring me a Chai Latte 😘

Ugh, she probably knew she was running late too. Damn her and her promises.

Petra made her way to the nearest coffee shop. There was a line, of course, but at least it hadn’t been out the door like it usually was on a chilly, Monday morning.

It did not take too long for the line to move, Petra watching as the man before her stepped up to place his order. As he pulled out his wallet, a card or something had fallen from it, unbeknownst to him.

“Oh—“ she bent over, picking up what looked like an ID card, “sir-,” she stood up again, tapping the man on the shoulder, “you dropped this.”

HANGE IS GOOD... so often I'm like. I'd like to see you do better in her situation :')))

@choosetofight // right? like if pixis is played like a fiddle is it any wonder that hange ends up the same way? actually hange’s almost more intuitive than pixis- she picks up on things faster. pixis knew zeke screamed because he and everyone around him had the same sudden jolt of electricity at once. hange knew zeke screamed because the naked, wet, passed out kid riding in the bumpy cart with her had a sudden jolt 

it’s the same kind of people that threw a fit about armin “winning” the serumbowl

like they like the idea of erwin more than the character or the series itself and can’t respect his character arc, he’s not around anymore so they gotta scream about armin and hange instead because they took his spot or whatever even though there’s literally no reason for him to stay alive after the point he died
