How I feel about this character: He's a certified Good Boy, just living his regular life trying to be nice to ppl, and look where THAT gets him!? i ofc love that he's a pure soul thrown into a fucked up situation and forced to adapt, but I can't deny that seeing him later; cold and almost calculated in how he pulls the gun on Esteridge, is really goddamn badass of him... Basically I may not talk about him as much as I talk abt John but rest assured I love this good and badass boy!!

All the people I ship romantically with this character: This might come as a shock, but I admit it.... I ship him with John 😔 Sexually, romantically, you name it! I believe that, in most scenarios where they somehow actually get together, it'll be messed up ofc, but as in canon, I also believe that no matter how little fucks John might give, Jim is the only one on this earth who's capable of reeling him in in a way?? like-- Jim is Special and has earned john's respect from the moment he pushed him out of the car in the beginning... idk I just feel like John always acts like hot shit but he can at least play nice with others in public, for Jim's sake #lovewins

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Jim and Nash BROTP-goals!! I mean I don't mind it as a romantic ship I guess, but most of all I LOVE how a romance wasn't forced upon them in the movie, as you'd normally expect in a "boy meets girl"-scenario. hell, even when I was a mere 14/15-y/o watching the movie for the first time, I was tired of forced romantic subplots, so seeing Jim and Nash just-- not being romantic (except for the small hints of it at the motel) was SUCH a breath of fresh air! I cherish their alliance and friendship man what can I say

My unpopular opinion about this character: Some of y'all already know this but I don't see Jim as strictly a bottom I'm sorry 🤭 (imo he's a switch, hehe)

How I feel about this character: - WHERE DO I START-- he's an enigma, he's a cryptid, he's immortal and mortal at the same time, he wants to die but he just can't quit. i even gauged that when I was younger too: that John actually wants to die. so when he makes his victims repeat "I want to die" after him, he's not only talking about the victim, but himself too. he's tired of it all; of repeating the same ritual of "hitchhike>get picked up>be creepy>murder the driver>repeat", but ironically, he just can't kill himself. idk if that's maybe the one thing he's scared of, or if some weird "law" makes it impossible for him to kill himself... either way, he wants someone else to do it; to rise to his challenge and finally do him in. not to mention I love how he's so ghostly and otherworldly, but he can't just be a figment of Jim's imagination either cause he's shown to interact with the roadworker-guy at the beginning, and all the cops at the end. he's obviously made of flesh and blood, but he has no identity or anything else. he just... exists? idk it's just all very sexy

All the people I ship romantically with this character: - JIMBOOOOOO bc c'mon... how can I NOT? not only is Jim the one person (we know of) to have dared to defy John's goading them into saying they wanna die, despite how terrified Jim was of him. Not only did he hesitate in repeating that sentence, but he also had enough sense left to concoct a plan on the spot to throw John out of the car! here's this kid, only just 20 and so naive about the world, and yet he's the one that unknowingly picks up on john's little "challenge". John has deemed him worthy; has deemed Jim as someone capable of finally killing him, and it's exhilarating for John. it's been so long since he felt anything even close to a real emotion about anything, and he's not about to let go of Jim now that he has him in his sights. it's just-- the perfect ship I'm telling ya

My unpopular opinion about this character: - .....ik it's just a fan-theory so don't feel bad omg, but I don't believe John is Erik from Turkish Delight bc John has only ever explored other men's bodies actually (anyway, this hardly counts as an unpopular opinion since we're talking about a theory here, but it's as close to an unpopular opinion as I could get on this one, hehhh)
