Who’s ready for another update?

Obviously some objects only render in at a certain distance and so the back fairylights didn’t render in, but they’re there!

This is mostly for my own reference, but other folks may find it useful. I’m not going to include screenshots right now bc that would make this post super long, and my broadband is limited rn. These are notes on the shaders I currently have installed. Most of these are popular ones you’ve probably already hear of, but it might be nice to read a comparison.

Here’s what I’ve got and the general shader settings I play with.

BSL v7.1: light, very atmospheric, slightly blurry filtered look. This is super cute and what I like to play survival on because dark areas (underwater, caving, the nether) have good visibility. FPS usually run in the low teens but I’ve changed the settings to get in the mid 30s.

Chocapic13 High: dark shadows, very vibrant and sharp. I love this for screenshots but dark areas are just too dark to play survival with. This one and all the others in this list get abt 21 FPS at the settings I have them at.

Lagless Shaders Standard: also dark, vibrant and a little cool toned, but less contrast than Chocapic so it’s easier to play with but the nether is still pitch black. It claims to be pretty lightweight so I’m saving it for trying to run with a modpack

Oceano v2: suuuper light, slightly blurry, but less filtered than BSL. I turned the sunlight to 0.8 (from 1) to get better visibility. Water and portals have really beautiful mirrored surfaces so might be cute if you live near the ocean. It only gets 11 FPS so I’m thinking abt deleting this one

Sildurs Vibrant Shaders v1.27 Lite: Similar to Chocapic but more golden tinted and less dark shadows. Also very sharp definition. I’m not super fond of it purely aesthetically but it’s lightweight and as fast as Lagless. When I first used it the shadows from grass shifted jerkily whenever I moved, but changing something in the shader settings reduced that. Medium: slightly nicer performance and slightly slower than the lite version

Originally it was just a hole in the side of the mountain but there was a body of water right below it. So obviously I had to make an artificial waterfall. The water is Biomes O’ Plenty hot spring water so I am going to do up the area over quite a bit to be more “spiritual” and “mystical”
