Late Christmas gifts for mutuals lol
I've gone a bit overboard with this, but here we are. This gift is for, well, let's just say that calling her an Orpheus fan would be an understatement, so I'm going to introduce her as the most Orphic of all Orphics @arkimessa.
I did this new format bc I couldn't get into any of the texts and didn't want to make one up, and surprisingly there weren't any John Flaxman plates I could colour. Let's go with the justifications:
I think certain details don't need explaining, such as the O being a lyre and the flowering branch being laurel.
The lyre is inspired by the pattern on the shell of the Mediterranean tortoise (as it is called in Spanish) with the scientific name Testudo hermanni, and the horns are an attempt at I don't know what LOL. I made the string holder thinking that they are made of ivory.
The laurel is a reference to Apollo's victory crowns and his relationship with music (I could also say that it is related to Calliope, Orpheus' mother hehe). It is flowering because I think that in art it is often overlooked that it is an angiosperm; I hardly ever see it in bloom, and this is my tribute to this tree that I love so much.
The letter colours were inspired by her Orpheus art.
Tiaaaa, espero que t'agradi molt!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
