Alonso and Chloe’s wedding was arranged by their parents when they were children and now the day has arrived. Having gotten closer to his ex and daughter again at Elena’s coronation, Hector throws a giant party for Chloe to show how proud he is. Chloe is uncomfortable with being in the spotlight and relieved and happy when Hector draws the attention to Valentina, the maid of honor. At first, both Val and Alonso feel called out, but Val quickly bounces back to her role as the supportive sister. Even Juan Ramon is proud of his son for finally taking up his responsibility and providing an heir for Cordoba, a duty Alonso is not thrilled about.
Valentina bittersweetly remembers the night she met Alonso. She and Chloe had become so close friends that they consider each other sisters. As soon as Alonso and Val saw each other they started to flirt, both knowing full well that it was not intended to be serious. Alonso was known to flirt with every princess he met, and Val thinks that she just elevates his status by being the most fabulous princess of all. But nonetheless something clicks between them and Alonso opens up about why he is here. After not having seen his betrothed (whose name he does not mention) for twelve years, his father arranged him to meet her and make the wedding proposal official. Before having to settle down that evening, Alonso wants to get a last taste of freedom in Val’s company. She knows he will get married soon but the forbidden relationship only heightens her interest.
But then Chloe sees them, recognizes Alonso and is immediately smitten. Val goes over to introduce her and Alonso is surprised to see how pleasant and beautiful Chloe has become. He had not realized that she was the same woman as the little girl who used to play pranks and annoyed him. Maybe getting married to her would not be so bad after all. Val is hit by the realization that Chloe is actually the betrothed he had been talking about. And she values their friendship too much to go behind her back and start an affair with Alonso. Sadly Val leaves them alone to bond and is chosen as the maid of honor.
Back at the wedding, Val wishes them her best, seeing how happy Chloe is with Alonso. Alonso on the other hand feels conflicted. He had started to actually fall in love with Val for once. But Chloe is nice and he does not want to hurt her and disappoint his father.
At that moment both Chloe and Abigail realize how Alonso and Val feel about each other. Alonso takes both of their hands under the table, signaling that they will face the future together. Valentina is welcomed as the Royal Mistress by Abigail who just wants to see her family happy. Alonso can strengthen the alliance with Norberg and provide and official heir for Cordoba, Chloe is still married to Alonso and Val can still be with him on unofficial events.
