Tomoe's question came unexpected, yes, he may have sensed a cloud of melancholy building upon her, but he didn't expect to hear that. Selfish? Valryn remained quiet and let her continue speaking. Even with many years of existence, comforting another was not as easy as one would think. To find the right words, to ease your loved one's mind, to make her feel better. No, this wasn't time for logical thought, it was about emotion, empathy. Such which occasionally slipped the ancient one's body.

Valryn's dragon like claws clicked along the flooring when he approached Tomoe and crouched beside her. "I don't think you're selfish." He began and rested his cheek against her shoulder. His skin warm to the touch. "Nor a coward." He understood what she meant, she wanted to help others, to use her powers for good, but the world wasn't so simple for creatures like the dragons. Humans feared the unknown, the powerful.

"We all want to remain safe, without pain, without hurt, well, unless you're a freak like me." He gave a hesitant smile. "And I want you to stay safe too. " That was a little selfish of him too, but he would never lock her away from what she wanted for herself.

"For the world, the people, to reject powers like yours, baffles me to no end. If they only knew the sweetness behind those hands, knew you, they wouldn't be so afraid." He gave her shoulder a light nuzzle and pressed his larger hand over the back of her small hand.

Achim stared with eyes as wide as saucers, following her every move with a morbid sense of curiosity and awe alike. He doesn't know shit about cooking beyond grilling a steak, frying some eggs and maybe mixing up some pancake batter, but he was sure this was not how you're supposed to do the egg protein shake thingy. Not to mention that, as an occasional raw-carnivore himself, the wolf himself was appalled by the contents of that glass.

To her cheer he'd very slowly brought his own mug up too, the one containing actual protein shake, the one that actually followed the damn recipe, and very slowly sipped it, careful not to raise it too high so he could withhold her unfolding stunt. And boy, oh boy, was he glad he didn't loose her from sight, because he'd been able to guess the incoming wave a moment before it happen.

"JESUS FUCKIN' CHRRR-!" ok, think fast; jump back, set the mug somewhere safe, go behind Tomoe, take the glass away from her, grab Tomoe and turn her over the sink. While trying not to step in it. The next thing Achim knew was that he was turning on the faucet and patting her back while muttering under his breath.

it certainly wasn't the most ideal situation; a belligerent customer inside the small stall, unsure if he was drunk, angry, just taking aggression out. it wasn't a terribly ridiculous scene, aside from a bowl being knocked over before it got to its customer, renji was able to talk the man away from the stall.

renji stands, looking out towards where the man walked even well after he was out of sight, before letting out a breath he'd been holding for a minute. finally, he sits - he looks towards the only other patron, and back at the owner.

"uh - sir? you mind remaking hers? put it on my bill, please."

“Is it any good? Have you been there before?” – equally excited voice replied her, and the two shining blue eyes were looking at Tomoe; only slightly covered with a bit messy hair today. It may not be the cakes that Nunnally was truly exited about, but if the coffee blend was good and there was a variety of teas to choose from, the demon girl would be in for a visit. And if it was close to the botanical garden, it was even better. It was one of their favourite places. They could spend hours there; wandering on the neat paths, looking at flowers, talking or simply reading – “I have heard a new orangery was opened with a lot of exotic plants in it.” – then Nunnally giggled – “And we can always consider falling into that pond again, if we insist on gathering some lotuses. Or lilies.”

A moment of silence.

“You would look beautiful with one in your hair.” – she giggled again – “Well, I think I would, too.” – though Nunnally was trying to be serious, she just couldn’t avoid bursting into wonderful cheerful laugh – “I promise I will be careful even if I decide to get some for us for real.”

“Oh, I missed you.” – Nunnally sighed hugging Tomoe – “Even if it wasn’t that long since we last met.” – another smile on her lips – “Shall we go now? Are you busy and it is just an invitation for later?”
