ok but youthful baze and chirrut playfully bowing and kissing each other’s hands lightly, pretending theyre royalty, growing older baze and chirrut lying in bed and chirruts hand is grasped in bazes’ and he presses a little kiss to chirrut’s palm and then theyre even older and the other guardians are gone but baze and chirrut remain and baze presses his lips to the back of chirruts hand as chirrut stares blankly away with the emptiness of loss deep in his heart but baze at his side, chirrut lying dying and baze grabs at his offered hand but cant bring himself to kiss it because maybe if he holds on long enough chirrut will live by sheer power of will waiting for baze’s kiss to land on his knuckles
