Came to our ancestors " Ashes House " today as early Ceng Beng / Ching Ming ( time to pray to the ancestors and send gifts for them in the after life ) with parents

Happy Ching Ming Festival, a good time to picnic with ancestors <3

Today me and my family were going to “ Rumah Abu “ ( a place where people can put the ashes of their family members who have been cremated in some jars and then store them here ). Once in a year, at Ceng Beng / Ching Ming, people visit their deceased family members here and pray for them. Sometimes people do the pray at their homes though, especially when the deceased family members have been dead for long. We don’t actually visit here every year too. The pics show the place, the temporary altars, also my family do the pray. Praying closed with burning some papers for our ancestors. The papers symbolize money, means we send money to our ancestors. Not just money, because sometimes the papers are in the shape of things like house, car, clothing, etc. when we burn them, means we send those things to our ancestors. The last pic shows the jars of my grandparents ashes and the one jar at the back is my great grandma.
