"Cyber Dragon" immediately became a milestone of what the card game would become today. Its simple Special Summon condition together with all kinds of purposes going from offense to becoming a material, "Cyber Dragon" was a must have for all sorts of Decks no matter if they played arround its Fusions or not. As time passed, "Cyber Dragon" became less prevalent as a staple card in every Deck, yet still had an important role on its own archetype. With several members taking its name to perform not only Fusion Summons but also Xyz Summons under any situation, a Cyber Dragon build aims of unavoidable OTKs with an assortment of Extra Deck monsters.
"Chimeratech Overdragon" is a huge invesment in the archetype yet with high OTK potential to the point of gaining a Deck of its own on its debut. When summoned, "Overdragon" will clear our field of all other cards on it, so we have to make sure when to bring this monster. In return, this monster gains 800 ATK for each material used for its Fusion Summon, so the more Machines we gather along with "Cyber Dragon" the more powerful will obviously become. Not only that, but combined with its potentially massive ATK "Overdragon" will be able to attack as many monsters as the number of materials spent on its arrival. Therefore, the more monsters we use for its Fusion Summon the more devastating "Overdragon" will become, making its negative effect of clearing our field worth the risk if that assures one or two attacks of this monster will finish off the opponent on the spot.
To obtain the best stats and number of attacks for "Overdragon" we need a big number of Machines for the Fusion Summon. While "Cyber Dragon" on its own will have it easy thanks to searching options like "Cyber Repair Plant" as well substitutes such as "Cyber Dragon Core", we still require spending a lot of Machines from our field or hand for the Fusion Summon. This is actually not recommended, as not only we might obtain a weak "Overdragon" without the proper management but is only truly worth it if "Power Bond" is used for the Fusion Summon as will double the Fusion's stats. The best choice to achieve "Overdragon" at its peak performance is by "Overload Fusion", a Spell Card that will allow us banish as many Machines as we want from the Graveyard for its summon. Therefore, either we wait for late game to bring "Overdragon" for cheap, or work along cards like "Magical Merchant" and "Future Fusion" to mill our Deck with as many Machines as possible.
Since will clear our field upon arrival, "Overdragon" must be brought when the opponent is the most defenseless to assure their defeat right away. Thanks to "Overload Fusion" is very easy for "Ovedragon" obtain insane stats and multiple attacks, either finishing off the opponent in a single attack or by attacking all their monsters in a single Battle Phase. If the opponent plays very defensively, work along cards like "Fairy Meteor Crush" so we can assure damage from our attacks. Be extremely aware of any backrow as can easily counter "Overdragon" if we're careless, so use cards such as "Night Beam" or "Galaxy Cyclone" to make sure nothing goes wrong during the turn the Fusion is summoned.
"Chimeratech Overdragon" is undoubtly a very expensive Fusion Monster if we take traditional methods for its arrival, specially since will clear our field once is summoned. Fortunately, "Overload Fusion" perfectly solves all its problems with a fast setup as well cheap availability Β thanks to letting us spend all our Machines from the Graveyard for the summon. This doesn't mean that "Overdragon" will only be at its peak in late game, as thanks to many milling effects we can dump most of our Deck in the Graveyard to obtain a lethal "Overdragon" before the opponent has their countermeasures. It might have lost its staple position to other Extra Deck monsters in the archetype such as "Cyber Dragon Infinity" or "Chimeratech Rampage Dragon", but is easy setups arround "Overload Fusion" makes a very powerful creature to make a Deck arround its high OTK potential.
