How do you get sims 2 to work on windows 8? I really wanna be able to play the ultimate collection but it won't work :(
oh nooo :( i think they fixed it to work with windows 8 a bit better so before you do anything else, i’d check your graphics card! if you’ve got an integrated and a dedicated one make sure it’s using the right one - i don’t think ts2 is all that compatible with some intel integrated cards so make sure it’s using your other one! mine crashed the first time i loaded it up because it was using my intel one rather than the nvidia card >.< that’s super easy to fix in your graphics card control panel! if that isn’t the case, try going to program files x86> origin games> the sims 2 ultimate collection> fun with pets> SP9> TSBin and then right click on the Sims2EP9 application and troubleshoot compatibility! i’m pretty sure it runs with windows xp service pack 2 or 3 :) you might have to make it run as an administrator too! i hope you manage to get it working sweetheart :( <3

hi sweetheart! it’s super simple to do once you get into the swing of the whole thing! :) i’m pretty sure i first learned from this tutorial here :) the way i make the alpha (which is the easiest way imo) is basically right clicking on the open file in photoshop to duplicate it so you have your original stencil file still safe and sound and you can make your alpha in peace, filling (edit>fill) in the background layer as black, and then, when on the stencil layer, clicking on this  little dude and choosing color overlay, then white, then merging the layers, selecting it all and copying it (ctrl  c) over to the original stencil file under the channels section on the alpha channel (ctrl v) (if this makes any sense at all)
then save the file as a .dds and import it as a stencil in tsr! (your channels are gonna look a million times different than that btw, i couldn’t find a dds file of a stencil on my computer so i just opened a random screenshot instead as an example lmao sorry)

1 - okay so for installing custom content, you'll need to double click the file if it's a sims3pack to install it through the launcher and if it's a package file you'll need to set up a mod folder by following these instructions and downloading the stuff it links to ^.^ as for pose player, make sure you have an account at modthesims, download it from here and then put it in your package folder with the rest of your mods ^.^ hope that helps!
2 - hmmm, the kid may not automatically be born with the custom hair so you might have to change it using the mirror! unless you mean hair colors? :) in which case yeah the kid might inherit the custom hair color ^.^ hope this answers your q!
3 - freckles are a mix of these two (1, 2), and eyebrows are from here :3
4 - i don't actually have a mod for no blur because my younger cousin sometimes plays my game and i don't want to disturb her or something lmao! however there's one here and here (make sure you install the right one for your patch level!), not sure which is better because like i said i have very little experience with them haha :3
5 - of course you can! most stuff is base game compatible most of the time, i'd suggest looking here for hairs/clothes etc. to begin with and my sliders/skins are all listed on my resources page here :3 hope this helps!

zoesims21 - ahh it was really frustrating me haha! i've got it all working now though. i think it depends on your computer because i've seen some people have no problems at all and then others just can't get it to work. eventually i had to install all the games on my old computer and then transport the files over because it kept crashing during the patching process and agh so frustrating! haha <3
