Riza has always had an inclination or push towards guns, ever since she was little. Her father tried to teach her alchemy, but it just never clicked with her and that frustrated him. What Riza doesn’t know is that her mother was also talented with guns before she got sick and died, although she didn’t pick up a gun often after becoming pregnant. Her father and Riza’s grandfather, Grumman, a soldier in the military taught her, as her mother’s side was very military oriented. The fact that Riza inadvertently took after her late mother made Berthold even more uncomfortable and frustrated with her. The one rifle they had in the house that Riza practiced with actually belonged to her mother and had been given to her by Grumman.
