It’s sad to me that these days I have to bottle up my inspiration and ideas until the moment I can turn them into reality, for fear of losing them. With an industry full of people who “take inspiration” by literally taking ideas, I’ve had to become so protective of my art and creative vision. • Once upon a time, I used to share my ideas and what I was working on out of excitement. The community used to respect the work of creatives and admire it. But nowadays, if ever I excitedly leak one concept or idea, it can be stolen within the week... sometimes even days! And there I’ll see my creative lovechild, something I often spend time perfecting, repurposed without a care. Just for the sake of churning out content. Just for the ease of taking what is aesthetic from someone, and using it to gain attention. • Where is the passion in that? Where is the creativity these “creatives” claim to have? And how can copycats ever be considered “Influencers”, if they merely follow the lead of other creatives by stealing their concepts? What saddens me is that because of the creative leeches out there, I have to hide my work until the moment it’s ready to share. And then it lives for only a brief day or so before it becomes the food that feeds someone else’s “ideas”. • I have so much I want to share with you, and inspire you the way I feel inspired. But I’ve learned a hard lesson to maintain some sort of domain over my art, and that means sometimes even keeping my ideas from friends on this platform. And it’s taken a lot of the enjoyment out of this platform. Can it ever change?
