The Place du Tertre is the most picturesque place in Paris. This iconic place was once the main square of the small village of Montmartre which adjoined Paris. You can see the old town hall of the village which dates back to 1790 and is located at number 3.
Do not miss also to visit the Café Chez la Mère Catherine, located at number 19 of the square, is also a must. It is here that the famous Mother Catherine opened her café in 1814 and that the word "bistro" was born.
