Hi TwoFingersWhiskey, i love the variety and quality of your cc ( i think that a lot of people can find something that likes and can use regardless of their gameplay style unless you are a no cc purist) , in mi case was the camera default, i never liked the original of the game, too "modern" to my taste, i have a suggestion of cc if you are insterested, its posible to make that the photos would be in black and white? i imagined that you can edit and default the photo frame so the glass is B&W
“Step 1: Take the picture. To get the best results, you should really use a screen capture software program instead of the in-game camera. That way your pictures turn out exactly as you see them on your screen. But you can always use the in-game camera if you want to; it will still work for this! I use Fraps, which is completely free to download and use. So, the first step is to use your screen capture software to take the picture of your family (this picture will be the one that hangs on the wall, so make sure it's good!).
Step 2: Edit the picture. Now minimize your game, and navigate to where your screen capture software just put that picture. I have a folder on my desktop where Fraps puts all of my pictures taken in Little Hollywick. Once you find the picture, open it up in a image editing program (like photoshop or gimp, even Paint will work). To edit my pictures I always sharpen them, at the very least. Usually I will brighten them as well, but since I tend to use spotlights on my families for these pictures, that may not be needed. But just make sure your picture is bright and sharp. And make sure you crop anything out of it that you don't want, like command queue's.
Step 3: Save the picture. Now this is where you have to follow these instructions exactly as stated. When you save the picture name it exactly like this: Snapshot.bmp. No exceptions. It has to be named Snapshot.bmp for this to work. And to be clear, the picture has to be saved as a bitmap. Remember where you saved it, because we're going to use it very soon.
Step 4: Back in the game, use the antique camera. Now go back to your game. You can unfreeze/unposition/unpose your sims and have one of them use the antique camera (career reward item) to take a picture, or you can summon in a different sim to do it if you're not sure you're done taking pictures. You can get the antique camera by using the cheat: unlockCareerRewards. The camera will be available in the selected sim's career reward panel. So, have a sim use the camera until the screen capture box pops up. Pause your game. Once your game is paused, press "C" to take a picture. It doesn't matter what you take a picture of, because your pretty little edited family portrait picture is going to replace it anyway. Do not unpause yet!
Step 5: Making the switch. Take your Snapshot.bmp and put it in your EA Games/The Sims 2/Storytelling folder. Let it overwrite the file that's in there already. Make sure you are not in your storytelling folder in your hood's folder. It must be in the storytelling folder under the sims 2 directory as stated above.
Step 6: Unpause your game. Go back to your game and unpause. The sim taking the picture will continue through the animation like normal, and a picture will pop out the side of the antique camera.
Step 7: Hang it up! Enter buy mode and use the hand tool to pick up the picture off the camera. You will see that the picture is indeed your family portrait. Hang it on the wall or place it on a table, and enjoy it!”
