The Chichevache is a creature written about in certain European works of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. It is described as a cow-like animal with a human face.
Chichevache is usually partnered with the Bicorn. Satirically, the Bicorn is said to devour devoted husbands, and is therefore very plump. By contrast, the Chichevache devours obedient wives, and due to their scarcity, is depicted as emaciated and always hungry.

Alright I woke up and wanted to research some BICORNS Bicorns are interesting because theyāve been evolving rapidly over the past few decades, from an obscure medieval joke to a symbol of impurity andĀ āAnti-Unicorn.ā
(The anime depiction there is from Re:Monster) Traditionally, the Bicorn was a bloated cow-like creature with aspects of a Panther and occasionally a manās face. I canāt seem to find an actual origin for this, but I may have just not looked hard enough... Oddly, it often lacks actual horns in depictions despite itās name meaningĀ āTwo Hornsā Sort of anĀ āAnti-Unicorn,ā the Bicorn consumes faithful husbands and grows bloated and fat. The emaciated partner, occasionally described as his Wife (In John Lydgateās Bycorne and ChychevacheĀ which you can read here,) is called a Chichevache. Itās skinny and eats poorly because there arenāt a lot of faithful wives... Medieval jokes are like that.Ā The original fable is apparently French, though it is often attributed to The Canturbury Tales, and the term may come from the wordĀ āchichifacheā meaningĀ āThin Faceā āVacheā means cow, so yeah, possibly a pun. Apparently, these were popular to depict on church furniture and misericords
Ā More modern depictions tend toward an āevil unicornā look - Now it is consistently depicted as a vicious black horse with two large, curved goat horns most often green or yellow. The anti-unicorn aspects are emphasized over the āEating faithful husbands and wivesā aspect. For instance, in Overlord, a Bicorn can only be ridden by a non-virgin and the touch of virgins weakens it. The Monster Girl Encyclopia has a Unicorn transform into a Bicorn is their partner cheats on them or if a unicorn has sex with a non-virgin (Itās a waifu monstergirl thing.) The depictions here are from Shin Megami Tensei, Yu Gi Oh, Fantacia, Overlord, and Fate/Grand Order (Excluding the first one, which I canāt find a source of.) They are mentioned in Harry Potter and Battle Angel Ailita.
This one might be the truest āModernizationā of a Bicorn, with a bullās body, a pantherās head, and two large horns coming from it. A shame it has no attached lore or anything, I really like this design! In all likelihood Chichefaceās existence may have preceded the misogynistic legend attached to it, and it continued to exist in the popular mind as a sort of hideous bogey.

Name:Ā Chichevache
Alternate Names:Ā Thin Face, Famine Cattle (mythika only)
Mythology: Medieval European Mythology
Size: Large, but very thin
Environment: Anywhere famine shows itās horrible face
In Mythika: Cattle of the Horseman of Famine, Chichevache are sickly looking bovine-creatures with humanoid faces. Looking at these pathetic creatures takes away taste or hunger and people that spend too much time around these abominations literally drive themselves to starvation, becoming thin and without any joy, until they succumb to this magical form of anorexia and die, these poor souls will be reborn as Gaki, or hungry dead, eating all the food they missed in the last days of their cursed lives. Chichevache are themselves without need to eat, but when they eat they only eat particular food such as pure-hearted women without sin in their hearts, because creatures without ANY sin are hard to come by, they rarely feed at all.Ā

NOTE: While Chichevache are always linked to the Bicorn in many games and the real myth, Mythika doesnāt have any Bicorne, at least there wonāt be any if they donāt get enough votes. After I finish the enemies I like myself, I will put on a couple of creatures I have my doubts on, when many people give the creature a like or share, I will use them anyway, Bicorne will be one of these.
