Located about 70km southwest of Turin and 50km northwest of Cuneo, the little mountain hamlet of Chianale lies in the Val Varaita on the border with France. As such, it is the last village in the valley. And, at 1,614 metres above sea level, Chianale is completely covered in snow during the winter months. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: First take the train from Turin to Savigliano. Once there, catch a bus to Saluzzo (line 97) and then another to Pontechianale (106). Chianale is a beautiful stone village in the Varaita Valley at the foot of the Monviso massif. It is surrounded by breathtaking scenery and is a haven for lovers of sport, nature and adventure. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: First take a train from Torino Porta Nuova station to Savigliano. Next catch a bus to Saluzzo with 'BusCompany' and then change for Chianale, which is run by the same company. Check out the bus timetables on www.grandabus.it.
