If chess pieces were alive, they'd be eusocial.
Like termites.
There are six roles: pawn, rook, bishop, knight, queen, and king.
Colonies tend to be small. They typically consist of a queen, a king, and their offspring (a bunch of pawns and assorted other pieces).
Pawns are like larvae but also workers. Depending on how they're raised, they can grow into rooks, bishops, knights, or queens. Additionally, they do jobs around the colony and outside.
Rooks and bishops are soldiers. They protect the colony.
Knights are scouts. They explore surrounding land, looking for food and such.
The queen's main job is to have kids (the pawns), but she can also attack viciously if pressed.
Kings are different. A small number of pawns are a special kind called kingpawns, which can only grow into kings. Their job is to help the queen have kids.
When kings and queens grow up, they leave the colony to find kings/queens from different colonies.
If two colonies want the same territory, they battle until one of their kings is dead. Due to the rarity of kings, the losing side will concede defeat and death. This is the game we call chess.
@wooahiexist HEH. YOU!!!! This was left on Seaso image before this post for extra context, things like this I wish I could just reply publically. ( or I can and I’ve never figured it out. )
BUT. for you I have made Seaso N. Spyce on Toyhouse public, though there’s not much lore there so I’ll give you the skinny - his story is still being completely worked out!
Seaso is an overworked man who works a pretty boring and pretty demanding office job and keeps working over hours ( and himself to death ) hoping he’ll one day climb the corporate ladder and get to live easy.
He rarely takes time off or for himself at all, so when he does he usually just self destructs ( aka he frequents bars on free nights and overdoes it quite badly. he’s not doing it healthily at all ) and has become incredibly distant with his family as a result... not to mention just about everyone in his life?
This is all put a screeching halt when he’s, quite literally, ripped from his “normal” life by a gang of 5 scientists ( secretly ) hired by the government to find a way to make people into all powerful weapons for the purpose of war... or whatever they really want. Those scientists all have their own very different reasons for taking the job and don’t care about the government’s final wishes, but rather their own and will do anything to achieve their own goals no matter how corrupt! So they kidnap and experiment on people, turning them - essentially - into mechanical weapons and yes it’s just as bad as it sounds! :’D
Seaso becomes another experiment in their laboratory the only difference is that Seaso is the protaginist and also might just... have a more than dedicated hand and family in breaking him and everyone else out of the whole project.
And... maybe figure out why these scientists are even doing all of this in the first place? Not like that makes it right. But maybe they can fix everyone at the end of this? or... do anything good for humanity? Not every one of them seems bad... just... all really crazy.
TLDR: Seaso overworks himself in his boring office job and has lost himself in the sauce of possibly easy living in the long away future if he KEEPS WORKING!!!!!!! He also wants success... for HIMSELF... without ANY HELP!!!! Then scientists kidnap him, he’s turned into a cyborg with quite a few weapons at his disposal and has to work with others to save him and the rest of the people kidnapped to be free from the crazy 5 scientists. Also learn really fast that life is worth more than work 24/7 and he’s only got so much of it !!!
So me and my friend were messing around with custom chess rules on chess.com and there's this ability called sacred royal
Here's the description
This means that the king has a circulatory system
So first of all I opened Photoshop and made this
But second of all it means that the reason freez works is that it freezes the pieces blood
Which means that all the pieces are cold blooded since it doesn't instantly kill it
This means that all the pieces are reptiles
And that would explain why knights can jump
CAUSE ITS A FROG
Anyway the point is that all the chess pieces are repriles
But hey, that's just a theory
