freddie trumper is literally a physical abuser in the 1988 broadway version of chess. like tell me why freddie is doing all of this:
- seizing and shaking florence during mountain duet
- looming & trapping florence against a chair during "a taste of pity"
- raising his arm aggressively after the first game when florence try to speak
- assaulting walter in "no contest"
i don't know if there are other stagings out there that i missed that are this physically aggressive, but out of every version i've watched this is truly the absolute worst i have seen of him. the only instance of physical aggression in other version are usually in press conference and sometimes he get into a fight with anatoly after their first game, but in this version he genuinely made me uncomfortable.
