Hey everyone, Today, I drew Cherrier Vivace as an Algerian Police car because... well, I'm an Algerian patriot. So why not draw something related to my country at this point? Also, I wish I had BeamNG Drive because I love cars so much. Oh, and about the two cats' graffiti, I used one of @rzstar25's old Catchilla bases to do it. "Parley Opens To End Strike," Montreal Star. April 7, 1943. Page 3. ---- 800 Munition Workers Quit Jobs at Cherrier ---- Representatives of the Allied War Supplies Corporation and of Local No. 2316, Munitions Workers' Union, together with other interested parties, this afternoon met at the office of Raoul Trepanier, chief Federal Labor Department conciliator in Montreal, in an attempt to settle a strike of approximately 800 workers at the Cherrier plant of Canadian Car Munitions, Limited.
The employes, both men and women, struck today in an attempt to force the Regional War Labor Board to increase by five cents an hour a recent wage increase.
The strike affected two shifts of this group, but all other groups in the plant, operated by Canadian Car Munitions, Limited for the Allied War Supplies Corporation, are working as usual today.
Most workers on the three o'clock shift of No. 1 group did not go out to the plant on the afternoon train. They were met at Maisonneuve station and told of today's developments and decided to stay in Montreal until matters were settled.
The strikers are members of Local 23216 Munitions Workers' Union of Cherrier, and the president is Jean Jodoin, with Amedee Lafleur vice-president. This union is not connected with the local A.F. of L, organization, but is affiliated directly with the Washington headquarters of the federation.
Mr. Jodoin was stated this morning to be at the Regional War Board's offices.
The management made it clear today that the plant is not shut down by the strike. The regular train service from the Maisonneuve station is running, and the plant is operating as usual. The strike, the management declared, affects only a small department.

Page 12. ---- MONTREAL, July 8 - (CP) - A third shift voted unanimously this morning to return to work at midnight tonight, bringing to an end what union officials termed a 48-hour "protest cessation of work" at the nearby Cherrier munitions plant. Two other shifts of the workers voted unanimously yesterday afternoon and late last night to return to work after being told by labor that no negotiations could be undertaken with the company before they were back at their jobs. About half of those present at the three meetings in east-end Maisonneuve market hall were women. Paul Fournier, president of the Montreal Trades and Labor Council, said that following this morning's vote, the workers of the three shifts would be called to a meeting early tonight and after returning to work would be asked to vote on whether they wished to join the Cherrier plant committee of the Montreal Metal Trades Council - an affiliate of the American Federation of Labor - or a company union. J. S. McCullagh, a representative of the Federal Department of Labor at the meetings, said he had received instructions from Ottawa to tell the workers that "a strike at this stage is a violation of the Industrial Disputes Act and subject to severe penalties which will be enforced if work is not resumed."
