People say sod made everything go downhill but I think Cherlowe was the turning point. At least phenzume dived into complex psychology of a toxic relationship, Cherlowe wasn't even interesting. It felt like a poor quality yandere trope you'd find on wattpad

I get it. People like fucked up characters and yandere tropes, but I don’t really understand how people are saying it’s a toxic ship when only like.. one person in the community said it while everyone else seemed to enjoy it

the healthiest 'popular' tumblronpa ship is caosuke imo

Caosuke is definitely overhated. While I feel like it could've been better, it wasn't so violently toxic. I can't help but look back at Katsuruhi and even Elsaya, relatively good ships that were well played out, their characters were good parallels, nothing was rushed, and the characters loved each other without having their entire part of the game revolve around the two of them. Yet, they've fallen out of favor when it comes to the main part of the community.

But, then you have, say, Cherlowe, which was executed so quick, and really changed what Marlowe could have been. He could have been a normal-ish, probably straight, peppy guy, and that's something the community as a whole could have benefited from. I really hope to see him somewhere else.
