Later he arranged for the collective farm girl to have private lessons to enable her to enter Kieff Agricultural academy. Last December she was elected deputy to represent the district of Cherkassy, in the Ukraine, in the Soviet’s new parliament. But Russian women at the moment are interested not so much in her achievements as in her reported friendship with her benefactor.
