Poutine is a classic Canadian comfort food dish made with cheese curds, gravy, and crispy fries. It's a very rich and tasty treat.
Ingredients: 4 large potatoes, cut into fries. 2 cups cheese curds. 1 cup beef gravy. Salt, to taste. Vegetable oil, for frying.
Instructions: In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 375F 190C. It will take about 5 to 6 minutes for each batch of potatoes to get golden brown and crispy. Place the drained food on paper towels and sprinkle salt on top. Warm the beef gravy in a saucepan over medium-low heat until it's all hot. To put it together, put a layer of fries on a platter or on each plate. Put cheese curds on top of the fries, and then pour hot gravy over them. Put more layers on top of each other until all the ingredients are used up. Finish with a layer of gravy. Serve right away, giving the cheese a chance to melt a bit. Have fun!
