 Ken had warned him that messing with his digivice was generally not a good idea, but could you blame him for being curious? The thing was an engima to him and part of him partially blamed it for what happened to his little brother. Osamu hadn’t exactly been expecting it to work with him either though.

Groaning as he sat up he blinked as he found himself outside suddenly, and putting two and two together he quickly figured he must have accidentally opened a port and was now in the digital world. It was surreal, to say the least. Ken’s description of the place was accurate, but it was more beautiful than he had imagined.

Although he knew he had a problem. How was he supposed to get home and how mad and worried was Ken going to be when he found his digivice missing? Laughing to himself as he stood up he tucked the device into his pocket. He’d have to keep it safe for now and apologize once he found his way back.

For now though he needed to find a way out, maybe if he could find a friendly digimon they could point him in the right direction.

“This is almost surreal. I expected this place to be more obviously computer based but everything looks even better than it does at home. He did say this was a very real world though so maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised” it was peaceful, quiet, the trees swayed and the sun shone so nicely he could feel the gentle heat on his cheeks.

Even without the Kaiser business he really wouldn’t have blamed Ken for wanting to spend more time here.

After a bit of walking he found what he figured was a digimon, a little candle looking thing that he walked over to and crouched down “Hey there, do you think you could help me?” the Candlemon squeaked in fear, crying out loudly- He leaned back, feeling back for making the little thing cry but he didn’t get long to figure out how to make it better as a fireball went whizzing past his head.

That was hot, his cheek almost felt like it was burning now.

Hadn’t Ken mentioned that most Digimon were nice? Maybe this little guy was that big guys child cause holy hell did that Meramon look pissed.

“W-wait I wasn’t going to hurt them-” he’s lucky he fell back on his ass because another fireball had gone flying towards his face.

Okay, time to run. How in the hell did Ken survive this, he suddenly feels a lot more lucky to still have his little brother

- Takato-kun? I’ll need the “goggles” for that again!

Miyako grabbed her glasses and put them on her forehead again. This time, she took a deck of cards and made an excited expression.

- O-Oh! Hey! You like digimon too, right? I’m Matsuda Takato, from that bakery down on the street! Do you wanna see my digimon oc? 

Miyako took a badly drawn sketch of a red dinosaur out of her pocket.

He’s done quite a few smart things, clever things. You don’t manage to hitch-hike across the States without having to out-think somebody, be it to convince them to give you a lift, or manage to sneak away with stolen food unnoticed. Of course, if you asked him, he does smart things on a daily basis, though that’s clearly his ego talking.

Being the smartass he is, he’d want one of those sattelite phones to call the coast guard, a crate of canned food, and a can opener. Because the crate, worded like so, would count as one thing, right?
