Coming and Going—Chebanse, Illinois
As the signal mast says, we’re 64.2 miles south of Chicago—along the former Illinois Central mainline. This is Amtrak 390, a northbound Saluki, making up time. Luckily the little squirrel scampered off the track in the nick of time.
