#cheating the devil

I can’t find any of my old CtD headcanons, and I’ve kinda forgotten some of my own hc’s about my own damn characters 💀 so we’re just gonna wing this shit okay ily and thank you so fucking much for sending this in! Also wasn’t sure if you wanted separate or Chris/Zach so I went with the later💕

Chris was friends with Damon before he was friends with Y/N and Zach, and Zach was friends with Y/N before he was friends with Damon and Chris

But the more time that Y/N and Damon spent together, meant the more time they all spent together

At first they didn’t get along bc they were total fucking opposites. Where Zach was loud and craved everyone’s attentions and had the ability to make everyone laugh, Chris was more quiet with a smile wider than the universe

Eventually though, after a few months, they began to balance each other out. Zach was able to adapt to Chris’ quietness and Chris Zach’s loudness, and soon enough they opened each other up

Zach was always so loud because of how often he was ignored and neglected before the foster home, and Chris was quiet because he learned to live in the shadows to avoid detection and trouble

So, after a few years, Chris learned to give Zach the attention he craved and needed in order to quiet him down. An arm slung over his shoulders, flashing him a funny meme on his phone, wrangling him to his while he played video games. As long as Chris was touching or talking to Zach, he had a tendency to quiet down and actually focus on the things around him

Same goes for Chris. Zach is the only person that can manage to wrile him up and get him shouting or laughing hysterically. Sure, Damon and Y/N can him to talk plenty and grumble about Y/N’s dumb impulses or Damon’s stupid authority issues. But only Zach can get his vocal chords vibrating. Zach keeps Chris out of his own head most of the time and reminds him that what happened when he was younger wasn’t his fault, and no matter how quiet he was wouldn’t change a thing

Once they become official though, they’re obnoxious (adorable)

All four of them have codependency issues, no matter how you look at it. But once they pair up and start dating within the group, shit just gets worse

They’re always together, regardless of what’s going on. Thankfully in California there aren’t too many homophobes or bigots or racists to deal with, so they don’t have to constantly be looking over their shoulder, but even the thought of how dark the world is getting makes the two of them shiver sometimes

“We’ve killed people. We can do it again if anyone gives you two shit, you know that,” Y/N would say whenever they would come to her or Damon with underlining worry.

“That’s not the point. We shouldn’t have this fear in the first place.”

“You’re right, I know, and I’m sorry I can’t make it better for you guys. But Damon and I won’t let you fall without a fight, we’ve got you.”

The gang goes to all of Zach’s sport games, depending on what he’s decided to do for the season, and Chris paints his number (16) on the inside of his wrist

Chris doesn’t do school participation, or school in general. He usually skips with Y/N, so Zach will often bring him notes and help him study if he decides he wants to show up for a test.

Only thing Chris really does look forward to at school is art class, which he’s enrolled in like 3 classes worth. If he’s proud of a piece he’s made Zach will hang it up in their room and post it on his socials (he tries convincing Chris to make an anonymous instagram account for his artwork, but Chris doesn’t wanna risk getting caught up in the fame and popularity that could occur)

They’ve only ever broken up once, a year before the gang left for the Cortez. It was a messy fight, one that Y/N and Damon got pulled into and it ended up shattering the group for a few weeks. Nobody was talking to anyone and they all became to morbidly depressed, their foster parents put them into emergency therapy

That’s how they all figured out they were truly codependent and had a problem, but none of them wanted to fix it if it meant spending more time away

So Y/N and Damon had to do the cliche ‘shove the two lovebirds in a locked room until they kiss and makeup’ bullshit, while also figuring out their own issues

Baby March (as I’ve stated before, I’m not too great with baby stuff so this isn’t gonna be as good as the others)

When Donovan first sees Y/N, she’s being cradled in James’ arms in an old baby blanket (Donovan swears it crawled out of the fucking 1800’s)

He doesn’t care all that much, it’s just a damn baby ffs, but Y/N doesn’t cry or scream or wail like other babies he’s met. She’s quiet and looks around at everyone in the room. She’s intuitive and observant and only like two months old

The first time he cares for her, is during a fight with her mom. Y/N is roughly 6m at this point, and has made it painfully obvious she doesn’t like being near her mom (only time she actually screeches like the baby she is). It’s during one of these times, when the mom and Sally are passing the baby back and forth between their drug hits, that Donovan steps in

The mom’s eyes are blurred and unfocused, and Sally just looks crazed. Neither seem to actually understand there’s a human child between the two of them, stubby fingers inches away from a needle full of heroin. Donovan couldn’t stand by and watch, and so he swooped Y/N off the dingy bed and into his arms

Her crying ceased immediately, and neither women seemed to notice that the baby had left their presence. From that moment forward the two became inseparable, and Donovan was her unofficial big brother (a guest mistook him for her did, once, and James killed them on the spot. So Donovan made sure the mistake was never made again)

Pre-Kidnapped March

Donovan became Y/N’s main babysitter, begrudgingly by James after he found out what Donovan has did for her. Because of this, Y/N often looked to Donovan when her father wasn’t around

She has a depended personality, meaning she clung desperately to those around her, and James and Donovan were around the most. So Y/N was rarely seen without one or the other

When Y/N was with Donovan she was full of mischief. He never let her help him and The Countess catch prey, but he did teach her how to get whatever she wanted using a carefully practiced pout, big eyes, and sad words. (James was PISSED bc it worked every. Fucking. Time.)

Donovan loved dressing her up, similar to the countess, and is part of the reason she took on a leather jacket in her later years. She loved the way his leather jacket felt, and would often use it as a blanket or comfort item in times of distress

Where James was her protected, Donovan was her lookout and guide. When something went wrong, that her father couldn’t fix, she’d run to him faster than possible

Teen March (this probably won’t include spoilers, but idfk where I’m gonna take the story so who knows)

Once Y/N remembered who Donovan was, and got over the initial shock of everything that had happened, their relationship slowly fell back into place. Y/N had grown up, after the hotel, stand offish and closed to anyone other than her boys. So to suddenly let this abundance of people back into her life was hard. But Donovan and James were the hardest, because they were the hardest to forget

Damon and Donovan don’t really get along. They’re too similar, and Donovan still sees Y/N as his baby sister, and Damon sees Donovan as someone with an eye for Y/N. Damon’s grown up alongside Y/N, watching her back and keeping an eye over her shoulder since she always refused to. And he wasn’t about to let that habit die now, just because she suddenly remembered her past

The rift between the Double D’s isn’t easy for Y/N, though, and because of it, it makes her relationship with the two of them hard and foreign

Y/N wants nothing more than to except the love and comfort Donovan is offering, but she doesn’t know how to accept those things from people who aren’t Damon, Zach, or Chris- not yet at least

It hurts Donovan, having held the guilt of losing Y/N, the hotels light, for so many years; only to have her back home but not ready to shine. He doesn’t know what to do and he feels like he’s tripping over his own feet to figure it out

James, obviously, felt as if his whole world suddenly made sense when he first saw Y/N. All the killings now held more meaning- they were for her. And he would continue to kill as many people as he had to, not just for the 10 Commandments, but to keep his precious baby safe

Her mom felt as though Y/N was a burden and the reason her world had fallen apart. She didn’t love James when she became pregnant, and she didn’t love her daughter when she gave birth

Liz and Iris saw the baby as a new hope for the hotel. A sudden light in all the death and darkness, and secretly hoped that Y/N would someday return the hotel to its former glory

The Countess didn’t much care for the child, as she let to believe. The child was a product of James, not her, but deep down she did love Y/N. Y/N, even as a small baby, new exactly what she wanted and how to get it, and Elizabeth admired that. She protected the baby from the shadows, unlike James and Donovan who were always protecting her in the light

Donovan... boy oh boi that man was WHIPPED. He finally had a baby sister (in his eyes), and he finally had someone with an unbiased view of him. This baby wanted nothing to do with his looks, power, drugs, or influence. All she wanted was to play with his hair and tug on his leather jackets and cuddle up to him when it was past her bedtime

It’s a few months into their stay at the hotel, and by now everyone knows who everyone is

So it’s not surprising to see James, Zach, Chris, Damon, and Y/N sitting in the Blue Parrot Lounge, talking together

It’s late though, nearly 3:30 in the morning, and y/n’s eyes are starting to flutter

Damon notices, as he always does, and wraps a gentle arm around her shoulder, tucking her into her side

Y/N refuses to fall asleep though, and keeps gripping Damon’s thigh to keep herself awake

Damon is rubbing his thumb over her collarbone, trying to soothe and relax her into falling asleep

Zach and Chris are talking to one another, Zach with his legs draped over Chris’ lap

Damon’s focused on the conversation while trying to get y/n to sleep

While James is sitting at the head of the table quietly, smirking as he watches

His daughter jerks every few minutes, trip tiightening on her boyfeiend’s leg, before it goes lax and her eyes close- only to repeat

He doesn’t say anything, simply watches before after a while, y/n no longer twitches

Her head is lolled on Damon’s shoulder, hair splayed out across his shirt

Damon is still rubbing her collarbone, a lazy smile on his face as his eyes sleep shut as well

Chris and Zach are still talking, before realizing both their ‘leaders’ have fallen asleep

“They’re a good fit. They’ll last even into death,” James speaks, startling the boys.

“Yeah,” Chris nods, “it’s always been like that.”

James smiles, “And it always will be.”

3: A breathy demand: “Kiss me” - and what the other person does to respond.

Y/N has to dress up for their junior prom and she’s grumpy about it. Not because she doesn’t think she looks good, on the contrary she looks stunning, and she knows it. No, her problem is that she can’t wear her boots with the dress- which means she can’t run towards a fight or away from the cops if something were to happen.

She’s arguing with Damon about it, outside of the hotel the prom is being hosted at. Damon is dragging on a cigarette, hooded eyes staring down at her lazily. Her hands are flying and profanities are falling as she gestures to her boots and then the dress. Damon isn’t paying attention, he’s just watching her with a lazy smirk.

“It’s bullshit!” She finally yells, crossing her arms with a pout and a huff.

Damon breathes in, and tosses the cigarette to the ground. “Kiss me,” he demands, wrapping his arms around her waist.

“Wh- no! We’re talking!”

“Let’s stop.” Damon pulls her even closer, and that’s all it takes for Y/N to roll her eyes in defeat. She stands on her tip-toes and complies with the kiss, cupping his cheeks as she does so.

“Whatever,” she grumbles against his mouth.

22: A kiss that is leading to more, but is interrupted by a third party.

Y/N is sat in the questioning room of the Presinct, a scowl on her face. Her fingers are taping incessantly on the metal table, her foot beating against the ground. Suddenly, however, the door opens and Y/N is grinning ear-to-ear as Damon rushes in.

“What did you do?” Are the first words out of his mouth.

Y/N rolls her eyes, “Got caught.”

“You never get caught. Spit it out, March.”

“Oh no, not the last name!” There’s a fake pout on her lips, but she caves. “John was snooping around the hotel. I was busy with Donovan-“

“Of course you were.”

“Piss off. I was busy figuring out what to do with Iris, when he stormed in. I hadn’t changed and the guns were still out. So I got cuffed.”

“You should be in a cell!”

“Elizabeth pulled some strings,” she shrugged. Damon slammed himself into the chair beside her, leaning over to stare her down.

“You’re not getting locked up. I won’t fucking allow it.”

“It’s not up to you. Besides, my dad’s been helping me with this power. It’ll be okay. I’ll be okay,” she whispers.

She watches as Damon’s face falls and he starts thinking. But Y/N doesn’t want to think, she wants a distraction. So, she slithers into his lap and straddles him, causing him to startle.

“There’s cameras-“

“Let em watch,” she smirks, before kissing him. Damon grips her hips instantly and brings her closer. She grinds against him and tugs at his hair as his hands slide up her waist and rub against her ribs.

The door slams open, again, and Y/N growls in displeasure. “Sorry for the interruption, but you’re still wanted for murder, March.”
