It was a quieter afternoon now, by how far into the woods Ione had gone. She’d laid out her blanket on a clearing and was sat with a jumbo box of kandi beads, the type they sold at the craft store near camp. She was quiet, it was quiet. She was making a few bracelets, using her fangs as a makeshift scissor to cut the string. It was methodical, which she found a bit of peace in.
It’d been a long, loud day, the blade wound had shown as much, and as the small Gorgon sat in the clearing, it wasn’t her who was sneaking up on folks, rather herself who was being snuck up on.
