the wedding || Killian & Emma
"Mom, that was amazing," Emma groaned, patting her stomach gently. Family dinners had become a Friday night staple, and tonight Mary Margaret cooked a feast worthy of at least ten people. "I'll never fit into my dress now." Her mother merely laughed, rocking her now two year old baby brother in her arms. He'd gotten so big so fast, and it was somewhat proudly that Emma could say that she took a hand in taking care of the little guy. At least, when her mother needed a break. Everyone pitched. He was this family's little miracle, a shining ray of goodness when everything else was murky. And now there was another supposed ray of sunshine. Her wedding. Their wedding. Emma hadn't wanted anything big, but when you were the Savior everything seemed to get a little out of hand. At least she'd managed to keep the ceremony's guest list small, somehow convincing the whole town not to make it a day of celebration. It was just a wedding, after all. It was the marriage that was the tricky part. But if it was just a wedding, why did she feel like she could throw up at the very thought of it? Emma wasn't having second thoughts about Killian. She loved him. More than anything (save for Henry, but that was a given). All she wanted to do was spend the rest of her days with that idiot pirate...but actually putting a name to it? Wife? Married? It just...made it so official. For someone who spend their entire life running, commitment was a bit of a challenge. She still had a few days to come to terms with being Emma Jones (or Swan-Jones, she hadn't decided), though. For now, she was able to enjoy her family gathered around the living room. Her parents tending to their son, Henry engrossed in the latest video came, and her curled up next to her favorite pirate, sharing a blanket as the fire roared and did its best to keep them warm. "Two days," she hummed in his ear, followed by a lingering kiss to his earlobe. Was it wrong of her to want to skip straight to the honeymoon? chasingxaxcrocodile
